Contracted Oct 2022 to build a small room addition, still not finished to code. He wants his final payment but has not called for the final required inspection from the city, He knows it will not pass. It has numerous code violations both of the building code and the electrical code. An engineer drawing was arranged by him and sent to the city for permitting. The "final" results deviate significantly from the approved drawing without permission from the city or from me. The roof does not meet code despite my warning him months ago. The doors do not work as they should, crooked and with gaps large enough to see light through. The molding is hacked to try to make it fit. Sawdust in the windows, They sprayed paint on part of the original house which is not acceptable, Stairs railing is not code compliant and they tried to hack a poorly done remedy that is still not compliant. Tried to up charge certain things on the final bill. I could go on with a full list of the defects if needed. I also have photos if needed. At this point, I have no faith in the owner or his workman to do a decent repair on their mistakes so that it can be inspected by the city. They are either incompetent or dishonest or both. This room was being built to allow room for a newborn. That newborn is now 5 months old! A small 12 x 14 room should have been finished months ago. The owner has not responded to my email of over a week ago. At this point I want the room finished in a timely manner, to code, and cosmetically acceptable to me, using accepted local standards for construction. The roof needs to be finished using materials and finishes that meet code and my standards. The rest of the code violations need to be repaired to meet the codes and my standards. The up charges need to be adjusted to a level that is acceptable to me. I would actually prefer that he pay for a contractor of my choice to come and finished his mess and make it right. I also want him to call and arrange a site visit.

I have been trying to contact ***** to get together to get his punch list. He keeps claiming he is getting other contractors without slowing me to correct anything. I had to cancel the one appointment we had due to a tree falling on a house and opening up the roof as it was raining. I am willing to correct what he wishes. Even removing the saw dust from the window.

We went to ******** to ** ** have our kitchen cabinets and flooring completed. We went to the North Charleston location to design the cabinets and pick out the cabinet colors and hardwood floors. ******** ** ** contracted with ASH Contracting to do the remodel of the kitchen and the hardwood flooring for the kitchen, living room, dining room, and the hallway. We also hired ASH Contracting to do some extra remodeling of the kitchen to include leveling the counter to be one level, and to open the kitchen entrance. ASH Contracting sub-contracted the job out to another contractor to tear out the kitchen cabinets, put together the new cabinets, remove the carpet, and begin the installation of the hardwood flooring. The remodel started on September 22, 2021, for the tear out of the cabinets and the flooring. Some of the hardwood flooring has been put down, however they did not have enough flooring material to complete the job. They contacted ******** ** **, and they had to order more. On September 23, 2021, ASH Contracting came in and cut out the wall and leveled some of the counter tops. As they were staging the cabinets to be installed, they realized that the cabinet measurements were not correct, and once again called ******** ** **. ASH Contracting put the material from the cut out in front of our garage and stated they would be back the next day to move it because they did not have their trailer. 2 weeks went by and they never came back to get the trash. We contacted ******** ** ** about this, and they assured up that ASH Contracting would come and remove the trash. My husband tried to contact them about the trash and Scott never responded. However, Scott did send a text message to my husband asking had the rest of the material come in to complete the job, and he said yes. ******** ** ** told us that he would be the one to pick up the replacement cabinets and flooring from the Columbia store. Scott told him "Not his mistake", but what about the check for $4375, so it
