Johnny D agreed to come install luxury vinyl plank in my upstairs hallway and on my stairs on Wednesday, 9/7/22. He had previously done work for me so I trusted him. His girlfriend Wendy works with as a helper, although she is not as knowledgeable or skilled as he is. She came and started pulling up the carpet and installed part of the flooring. Then he texted me that he wasn't coming that day, so she worked alone. He asked me to pay Wendy $300 out of his $800 fee so I paid her cash. Then he came the next day on 9/8 and finished up the hallway installation and started installing planks on the stairs. He came late as usual though and said he had been looking at stores for bead board to put on the stairs, but he couldn't find any and it would be in til next week. He asked me to pay him $250 for the bead board but I told him I would pay him when he brought it. Meanwhile, that same day (Thursday) I had asked his girlfriend Wendy to paint the bathroom because Johnny told me she was a good painter. At the end of the day, I paid Johnny $250 for the work he had done for the day. He said he would come back Friday and finish the stairs, and I was going to pay him $250 when he finished. His girlfriend was painting all day in the bathroom on Thursday with the door closed. When she left, I paid her $200 for painting the bathroom. Friday morning I looked in the bathroom and was shocked at how bad the paint job was. She didn't paint behind the commode or sink and they were big gaps on the wall in other places. Huge areas still showed the old paint. Another painter came to my house on Friday to paint the kitchen and he looked at what she did while she was on break. He said it was a horrible paint job. I told Wendy I was going to use another painter. Johnny came back Friday, worked briefly, got his tools and said he was sick and would come back Sunday to finish stairs so I gave him $100 more. He has blocked my number. I paid him for stairs and only half are done.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/13) */ The situation has been resolved I refunded her money most of job was done but I got numerous emails from her that weren't kind at all and foul language so I just refunded money Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) HE IS A LIAR. HE TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER PLANNED ON RETURNING TO FINISH THE JOB. HE SAID HE WAS COMING BACK ON SUNDAY TO FINISH BUT NEVER ANSWERED MY TEXTS OR VOICEMAILS AND THEN HE BLOCKED MY NUMBER. HE RETURNED MY MONEY ONLY BECAUSE I FOUND HIS EMAIL AND THREATENED TO FILE FRAUD COMPLAINTS WITH DISTRICT ATTORNEY AND DEPT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS. HE BLOCKED MY NUMBER BEFORE I EVER SENT HIM ANY EMAILS. I HAD TO USE HARSH LANGUAGE BECAUSE HE WAS NOT RESPONDING!!! HE IS A cROOK AND I WANT HIS BUSINESS TO REMAIN ON FILE AS FRAUDULENT. HE IS A FRAUD SO I WANT MY COMPLAINT LODGED AND TO REMAIN ON HIS RECORD THAT HE IS A CROOK.
