My husband voluntarily admitted himself due to depression and suicidal ideation on 2/18/23. I was not allowed to participate in any aspect of the process, nor allowed in the bldg. ** had to wait outside during the intake process. Once he was admitted, he did not get his personal belongings for about 8 hours. He was cold that first night and was told he could not have a second blanket. He was harassed, discriminated against and threatened by a female patient. That was tolerated and nothing was done except for **** being told to return to his room and get away from the female patient. She also harassed ************* day calling him a f***** repeatedly. **** was not able to use his hooded sweatshirt (no strings) yet one of his roommates was allowed to wear a hoodie. Thats an inconsistent policy. I tried calling the nurses station several times per day for 5 days and the phone was never answered. I was unable to get any updates. Incoming calls and visits were not allowed at all. I left voicemail messages for two directors, ************************* and *************************, expressing my safety concerns. I never received a call back. Upon ************************* (patient *****) release, he had to hand carry his personal items out to the car in two trips no bags. **** didnt get back all his personal items until he challenged the staff and described what items were missing. The information packet that was provided to **** was contradictory to what actually happened inside the facility. Sadly, **** went there for help and came out in a worsened condition. ** have been through this process in the past and Lighthouse Behavioral Hospital needs to be investigated. This facility clearly is not helping those in need. During Marks exit interview, he was told that this is not the place to go for help. That speaks volumes. Please help prevent these situations from happening to other patients in need. ** do not want to pay any copays and want an explanation of benefits provided to us.

I wouldnt recommend this place at all. I stayed here involuntarily in November of 2018 in my senior year of high school (adult ****, I had just turned 18). It was more traumatizing than actually trying to take my life. *** had to receive therapy specifically for what went on while I stayed here. The staff was extremely negligent (a patient got choked out and her throat got cut open and I had to call for help because the staff had left us alone even though the aggressor had been making threats to the victim all week, roommate covered himself and the walls of our shared dorm in his feces, patient escaped the premises) and threatening (telling you they will throw cold water on you to get you out of bed, instigating with other patients). The roommates were dangerous and bio-hazardous (ex: threats of harming me, telling me I was going to h*** constantly, covering themselves and the walls in ***** matter). Therapy consisted of religious exercises, little games, and television. What a joke. The psychiatrist would not listen to me at all regarding my own body. I was put on extremely high doses of Effexor and ******* (I couldnt form words, stumbling around, fainted numerous times, my hands constantly shook, I couldnt form thoughts) and when I told the psychiatrist she dismissed me. I was there 11 days. It felt like a year in h*** I wanted to *** when I got out, but decided it better to get therapy for it and move on with my life. Please consider sending your loved ones or yourself to a better mental health facility that actually cares about you, rather than a check.
