My first electric bill was due on 7/25/2023 in the amount of $52.00. It did not get paid due to the deposit I had to pay to start services in the amount of $350.00. I got another bill on Aug 9th with the unpaid balance on 8/9/23 that had my new charges, with total due of $141.00 due on 8/25/2023. My power was turned off on 8/15/2023 with out warning or my knowledge. I returned home on the 18th with rotten food. After going online to pay my bill, I find an outrageous charge of $50 for a reconnect fee that I was forced to pay. What rubs me the wrong way; After my payment was made, My lights turned on instantly. What was the $50 for? I understand that I should have paid my bill on the 25th, a late fee should have sufficed however they turned off my electricity for $52.00 when they have a $350 deposit applied to my account. I feel that this is not right. Broad River Electric continues to force fees; Round up fee, Reconnect fee, Membership Fee, Processing Fee and I am sure its more. Please help me, A total of 76.06 totals are all the fees I have been charged since start of service.Business response

Mr. ********’ complaint has been reviewed by management and our legal counsel. We are in agreement, that BREC produced all notifications that align with our standard operating procedures, as we do for all members. This is also true for the disconnection of service and fees that were charged to his account. I will be glad to discuss this with Mr. ******** to clarify any questions he may have.
