Took ford transit van there Because check engine light on, even though it ran fine. Constantly had to check on them as no one called me. Was told it may be oxygen sensors, but if that didnt work, we wouldn't be charged. They said it didnt work, would have to keep. More excuses as week went bye. Then it was maybe catalytic converter, then no, maybe "hard drive". I said just stop, I will pick it up. Assumed i would be charged only for analysis, but was charged for the useless oxygen sensors. Check engine light came on immediately after I left. They said several bad error messages were being sent, so I said how do you know the sensors needed replaced? Was told "because The error message went off. Ok, cant have it both ways. If messages aren't right, no way you can prove it was sensors. Anyway, paid just to get van back. Took to mechanic, who found it was simply chewed wires. Paid 360 for diagnosis/repair. I want my 600 back from Ford for useless sensors!

      Business response

      12/22/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/11) */ Customer presented on 8/15/22 with a 16 Ford Transit with 69229 with a check engine light on. As noted on the repair order, a failure was noted with the oxygen sensors and per Ford guidelines, these needed to be replaced. Customer was contacted, replacement was made and the check engine light went off and no codes or issues were noted. At a later time, the light came back on however with a different issue now being noted. Customer declined any further repairs. Unfortunately, we cannot refund for completed repairs as it did resolve the immediate issue presented and the customer did not have any lights on or codes stores when they left. The new issue is not a repeat repair otherwise it would have been covered by Ford based on a faulty part installed, which did not occur. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/11/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The light came back on after u put in these sensors, so obviously it didnt fix anything..or you would not have kept it to look further into it. You would have returned it to me. But since the light came back on, clearly there was another issue going on..ie why you said the hard drive might be causing it because multiple error messages are being put out..i was told when i picked it up that the light would most likely come back on and it did as i drove off..so again, prove that it was the sensors and not the chewed wires sending faulty signals? Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/11/16) */ The fact that your vehicle did have a fail code for the sensors and the replacement was necessary and advised by Ford, we cannot offer you a refund. We are not sure of nor can we advise on repairs that occurred outside of our facility though am glad that you were able to resolve your issue.

On 5/31/22, I took my 2015 Ford Transit 250 in the dealer to find out about a vibration on the driveline about 45 to 60mph and a ABS ring on the right rear tire.So about 2weeks later, I get called from the shop saying the mechanic says he recommends new tires and a new hub on the right rear axle.I then state please do a full synthetic oil change and do a overall check of the van and agree to the work to be done. The next day, I get a call for other work and I approve front struts, and drivebelt replacement and new brake pads since the calipers would have to come off anyway to replace the hub.About 3 days layer I pick up the van and turn out the parking lot of the dealer and theres a very loud audible screeching noise and the left rear tire starts smoking.By the time I get 2 miles down the road there is a cloud of smoke coming from the rear of the van.I return the van the same day and talk with the mechanic personally and tell him what happened along with a low brake pedal. The next day Im told the van is ready again.I pick the van up and make it down the road 2 miles and theres a audible thumping noise which I have proof of in video.By this time its the weekend and I take off the rear tires myself, which I all have pictures and video proof off as well of everything. The brake pads were burnt, the rotors were never resurfaced,The following monday I go back in the shop AGAIN, this time Im not as calm and talk to the superviser. He comes out and rides with me and hears the problem as well.I show him the proof and he tells me he will have another mechanic look at the van this time.By this time its been up to a month and a month of lost revenue for me and I have already paid 3600 for this half *** work. The next 2 days I ride by the dealer and never see the van move and I finally go back in there again. This time Im angry and loud.I end up getting the attention of the finance manager Steven B*****.I explain to him the issue and he tries to help.In the end problem still exists.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/20) */ The original repair was not correct and upon his return to the dealership, the concern was corrected. Days later, customer noted further concerns and contacted service team. He was to return to the dealership to have issues addressed though did not. Pictures were sent in of repairs done by customer to vehicle however for us to warranty our work and any faulty parts, we would have needed the vehicle back to address those concerns. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There was never a period of days later. There was always a problem right after leaving the shop. I had given this shop numerous attempts to fix the issue, at least 3x with proof I have each time.Anyone would clearly see that after that many tries that they were not skilled enough to diagnose the issue and thats ok but dont blame the customer or take the customers time for granted. If another mechanic has fixed the same exact part that I paid for and I was complaining about and I niw have no issue, I dont see whats the problem besides trying to hold on to my spent money.I have all receipts and video and pictures and proof to validate everything in this complaint.Anyone can contact me including Mr. I***** himself and I will be happy to show him and discuss this issue further. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/07/25) */ Unfortunately, with all warranties, repairs must be conducted by the dealership. We cannot honor faulty parts or workmanship issues outside of our facility or network.
