I called Jacob's Plumbing on a Friday evening to replace a inside toilet valve that had burst. They tore out the wall, but could not fix it until that Monday. The plumber insisted that I write a check that evening for $280 for approximately 20 minutes of work. I asked for a receipt but I did not get one. The plumber came back on Monday and charged an additional $450. I have asked for an itemized bill to submit to my insurance and have gone by the business several times and have called several times and have been hung up on and promised a itemized receipt, but I have not received one although all of my payments have cleared, but no one wants to give me an itemized receipt. They have been rude and abrasive and somewhat fraudulent in the amount and in the charges which I have yet to see. I incurred expenses repairing the hole in the wall the plumber made that was not necessary to make. I asked for a receipt that Monday and still did not receive one. All of my checking and credit card payments have cleared, but no one wants to give me a receipt. When I have dealt with other services, I've gotten a quote and receipt on the spot . I have called and gone by the business, simply to ask for my statement of services and receipt, I have been treated rudely abrasively, and with much subterfuge because I want this to understand the cost factor as well as to submit to my insurance. Services occurred on Friday, December. 16 and Monday, December 19. The plumber was at my house for about 20 to 25 minutes on Monday and left without an explanation of services. I looked around and he was gone. I called the office to report this. They sent someone an hour later to explain and clean up his trash, but did not give me a list of charges or a receipt. .Today is Thursday, December 22. I have continue to request a list of charges and a receipt, and they refuse to submit this information to me.

Good morning this is the lady from the office of Jacob Plumbing Company in ******** **. In the issue regarding Mrs. ************************* we did service her and at the time of servicing her I explained to her that she would receive a receipt from the service technician and then later receive one on a ********************** Plumbing letterhead from me once Mr. ********************** goes over the ticket and releases it to me, Mr. ********************** was out of the office for surgery so I had already explained this to this customer. ***************** first called to complain that she wasn't sure if the service technician was finished so since Mr. ********************** was in the hospital I got one of his head ******* to go by her house to check out the job he did and he said it was done. I then received a call again from ***************** saying she wanted her receipt and that when a person leaves from a job they are able to get a receipt. The conversation went to a bad place because she was yelling at me about something I had already informed her that she would have to wait a few days on, so I hung up the phone and I blocked her number this lady was trying to be in a disagreement and be in a argument with me and I wasn't participating in that when it wasn't called for. I spoke with Mr. ********************** upon his release and explained that I needed him to hurry up with her paperwork so I could send out her receipt and he did and I got it to her we would like to decline anymore service to this customer because the way she acted was truly uncalled for I was appalled that this customer was carrying on this way clearly something else had her upset but she wanted to make me her target of what she was mad about.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I think if you read the business' response closely you may note some inconsistencies within the explanation. That I will no longer discuss. I am simply a consumer who did not receive professional treatment and that is my fault for not looking into the reviews of this company before I called them. I simply never knew what I was being charged for and then when I received a receipt days later from the work being done, I was overcharged by one hour for 38 minutes of work. The first night's charge to plug the line was $280. We had already turned off the water supply. My total charge was $730. In the itemized charges for the second day, materials and labor cost were $450 for 38 minutes of work. There were witnesses at my home at the time. I also have phone records to the receptionist who said she does not communicate with the plumbers on duty. The materials on that day came to a charge of $70; the labor on that day came to $380 for labor at $190 per hour. The plumber only stayed 38 minutes. This is what I immediately reported to my credit card company after finally receiving a receipt days later. I admit being at fault for choosing a company without checking the online reviews. I will be much more careful the next time. I just don't want anyone mistreated and over charged as I was. It has left me as well as my family very ***** and nervous even more so with the dishonesty in the business' response. People don't take the time to report these kinds of issues just to do it. This was a very trying experience for me and family members. I will never seek service from this company again and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else. Thank you.
