      I made a reservation for a air compressor to be picked up so I could use it to do my sprinkler blow outs for my company. When I made the reservation I got a email saying they may not have it available.I called right after getting the email to make sure they would have one so I could start scheduling my blow outs. The representative on the phone took a second and assured me that the location would a 100% have my equipment rental for **** arrived to pick it up and they do not have it. They also do not have any available for another 2 weeks. I was assured that my card was not charged but could not do more to help. So I drove ***************************************************************************************** a hour.I also called customer service back. This representative said he has no idea why the other would have told me that but also offered no other solution.All around horrible experience and Im actually out gas money and have to possibly explain to my clients why I have to reschedule costing me and them more time.

      It would be helpful to know the location that the customer drove to expecting pickup. Does the customer know with whom he spoke to when promised that something would be available?We are not happy that you were disappointed in our service and will look into it further if given the above information.       Rented a ***** grinder for all day for $436, I live an hour away. I used the machine for three hours and then a bolt on the grinder head broke, so I shut it down and took it back. Upon arrival I wasnt given a replacement or a refund for unused time. I never received any information on excessive repair costs that the insurance I purchased through them would not cover. A month later they charged my credit card for $203 claiming that was the amount I owed after their insurance paid about $1800.I couldnt believe they can prove that amount of damage, otherwise they wouldnt have a problem sending me an itemized repair list. I have a feeling they do this to anyone when there is a repair involved. I personally would not recommend and I will never use them again.

      Sunbelt rentals, terrible company to do business with. Took us 4 days to do a 1 day job due to a 6 hour late delivery along with equipment that broke down and the their final replacement machine being delivered without all the nuts and bolts and us waiting on the delivery guy having to go to Lowes to buy hardware. My employees stood around or worked on their equipment most of the 4 days. Junk.

      Our company has been doing business with Sunbelt for a couple of years now. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars renting lifts and other supporting equipment from them. As we are a busy company we asked if we could change their automatic pick up policy for us. We rarely need a lift for more than a day so I have always tried to tell them to just cancel the rentals at the end of the day and pick them up. They have consistently told me no and forced a phone call to tell them to stop the rental and pick up their equipment. Due to the high volume of calls and customers that we handle every day we have missed placing that call from time to time. Even though the rental was taken out with the knowledge we only needed it for a day we would still be charged for calling late to cancel the rental and call in the pick up. I reached out to customer support to talk to someone about it and received an extremely generic response. "Unfortunately, Sunbelt Rentals does not do automatic pickups of equipment, for in the construction industry jobs may last longer than expected or delayed. To ensure that each job is completed before the equipment is retrieved, it is required that the customer call to inform us that the equipment is no longer needed." So, even though my company is assuming the risk in telling them to pick up their equipment a head of time, we are being told essentially that Sunbelt knows better and we still need to call in. In my opinion this seems extremely predatory and the only valid reason I can see this being the case is the assumption that customers will call off rentals late from time to time and Sunbelt will eagerly be waiting to apply additional charges to your account. Unfortunately, due to Sunbelts unwillingness to even have a conversation about this issue they have lost our business in the future. I am a bit surprised that this company would be happy to walk away from the large amount of business we do with them but it is what it is.

      *******, we do understand your concern. I can assure you that we do not want to charge any company more than the time that they need our equipment. With the equipment in our customers possession they are the only party that truly knows when the job is completed and the equipment is ready for pickup. Sunbelt has no visibility to the jobsite and the expected progress our customer hopes to have achieved in a given day. Every time our truck leaves the yard, there is an impact to the environment both in fossil fuel emissions and risk of accident. Showing up to pick up a piece of equipment that is still in use, is not in line with our goal to be an environmentally friendly company. We ask that our customers do their part and notify us when it is safe to make the trip to their jobsite.
