On 1/7/23, my husband and I entered into a contract with Guido Vacchio, of Nulook Property Investments LLC, to renovate our master bathroom. The contract stipulated Guido would provide demolition, all lumber, all sheetrock, all concrete backer board/durarock,mud, tape screws, nails, mortar, grout, any plumbing needed, and any electrical for the bathroom. We would provide tub, shower, tub fixtures, tile and glass for shower for $10,000, to be paid in 3 separate pymnts with the first pymnt of $3,000 being made on 1/7/23, before work began. The job was to be completed by 2/28/23.Guido and his crew arrived to our home on 1/25/23 to begin demolition. All framing, plumbing, and Sheetrock was to be completed before payment 2 for $3,500. We told him that we would not issue the next pymnt until the framing, plumbing, and Sheetrock was completed. He requested $1,000 in cash so that he could purchase material for the job. Against our better judgement on 1/28/23, we gave him the $1,000 in cash. The next time Guido showed up was 2/2/23. On this day and the days to follow he did not work full days and then requested $2,500 and still had not completed the plumbing and Sheetrock as stipulated in the contract. He said that he needed the remaining $2,500 for payment 2 so that he can purchase additional material. Against our better judgement we gave him the $2,500 via check with the understanding that he would complete the plumbing and sheetrock. The days proceeding, Guido showed up late in the days to follow and only worked a couple or 3 hours and came up with excuses to leave saying he’d return the same day and did not. We reviewed his work and discovered the concrete durarock, floor tile, shower floor leveling, was installed improperly. When we addressed our concerns with him he walked off the job leaving us with a mess.We contacted him and he said he would not be able to satisfy us and to continue he needs more money to complete, and must be paid all up front. To date we paid him $6,500 .
