Medications were ordered for my Mother that was moving from another facility to the Oaks at Chanticleer, these medications had just been filled and Oaks at Chanticleer was aware that the required Medications would be transferred with the resident from the previous facility and would not need to have extra on hand. The staff at Oaks of Chanticleer disregarded this information and went ahead and ordered refills of my Mother's medications before they were required resulting in a denial from Medicare to pay and we were billed the full amount. We had no choice at the time but to pay the invoice as we felt we were moving our Mother to a more passionate and caring facility that she would thrive in, that couldn't be further from the truth. I have provided for Oaks at Chanticleer the attached letter that outlines the overcharge and have remitted the amount that is due based the overpayment for medications that were not our responsibility. Also in the letter we provided the reasons in writing of why we were moving our Mother. I also spoke to the staff in person at Oaks at Chanticleer about these issues as well as the abuse and lack of empathy from their staff for our Mother and provided full documentation of the issue with a proposed resolution. Their response was to deduct the amount that was paid and resend the invoice with the balance of $461.29. I have included both the original invoice from February from Guardian Pharmacy, showing the original billing of said medications and the adjusted final invoice from Oaks at Chanticleer. You can see in the letter that was sent with the final payment of $75.37 shows the breakdown of deductions from the overpayment for said prescriptions that were billed at full cost.
