I applied for a loan. I was only asking for $1500, they said I couldn't get less than $2000. They sent me a promissory note that required no signature, odd. Then they said I could choose the date I wanted to start making my first installment, also odd. Marcus B**** who sounded like he was from the ****** ****, told me I had to prove to them I had at least 2 installments in my account. He kept getting rude and impatient with me. Then he asked me for my account info, which I had given to another person. I told him it didn't sound right. I change my mind and I don't want the loan. He called me back. He said f*** you. Then he called me back a few more times and left a message saying "f*** you, you MF moron. You stupid b*****. I will get you for trying to scam me you MF moron". He has a copy of my license so I am a little nervous. The phone is ************ *** **** I have attached a screenshot from my email with the person's contact information.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint at this time.

They have promised me before that they were stopping junk mail to my home, and it kept coming.  Now, they are making the same promise again AND claiming that I have to endure 30 more days of junk mail.  NO.  That is unacceptable.  If I came to your door or phoned your home over and over, and you told me to stop and leave you alone, but I persisted ANYWAY and told you that you had to endure it for 30 more days, what would you do?  I wager. you would file a police report for harassment, and police would tell me to stop contacting you or face arrest.  Why in **** do these companies think anyone should have to endure their junk mail for 30, 60, or 90 more days as some of them claim.  NO, THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint until the junk mail is stopped.

I will believe it once I see it, or fail to see it as the case may be.  It is outrageous that anyone should be told they "MUST" put up with contact for a month or however long AFTER they have said stop contacting me.  If a person did this sort of thing, police would charge them with harassment, and they could be arrested for it.

Any company that says a person MUST put up with continued contact for X amount of days does not deserve to be in business.  Leave us alone!!!!!!

I had filled out payday loan requests online. I was then contacted by someone who was claiming to be Advance America on 8/28/2024. They said I was approved for a payday loan of $1500. They sent me an email with a supposed to be application where it asked the last 4 of my social and online banking info to verify. I filled it out and they sent me another email with the "loan agreement". I then talked to the "agent" on an actual phone call who told me I had to talk to his manager and he would be calling me. The manager named "Mike Bush" with phone number *** *** ****. He told me I had to complete a verification process where they would deposit a small amount then I send it back and then I would get the full $1500 deposited into my account. He wanted it via cash app but it wouldn't work so I purchased a gift card and sent it to him. I should have seen the signs that this wasn't normal. my bank was then charged another 499.00 and left me negative. I contacted the bank who said this was a scam. It is being investigated but I'm still negative. I tried contacting the number again but no answer.

In the complaint, **** ******* contends they requested a loan online and was approached by “Priority Loan Servicing” who requested personal information. **** contends they were instructed they would be sent a small verification deposit and they would need to send it back via a gift card to receive the full loan amount.  **** attached the loan agreement from “Priority Loan Servicing” and texts with their complaint.

According to our records, **** entered into a Customer Loan Agreement (“Agreement”) with Advance America on December 23, 2021. Dear Cindy:

Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of South Carolina, Inc. (“Advance America”), is in receipt of a complaint filed by ********* *****. We have thoroughly reviewed and appreciate the opportunity to respond.

In the complaint, ********* ***** contends they got a loan; however, payments are not decreasing the principal balance as they expected. ********* contends they spoke with someone at Advance America who responded that the monthly payment was going to interest and not to the principal balance. ********* states, “I will never be able to get this paid off, because only a couple of dollars are being applied to the loan, and (sic) have been paying for months.”

According to our records, ********* entered into a Consumer Line of Credit Agreement (“Agreement”) with the Advance America storefront located at **** **** ** Boiling Springs, SC, 29316 on June 14, 2023. ********* was approved to make draws of up to one thousand four hundred forty dollars ($1440). On June 14, 2023, ********* requested and received a draw of three hundred dollars ($300). Since requesting and receiving the loan, ********* has paid as agreed and has also continued to request and receive draws. As of today, September 13, 2024, ********* has a currently balance of three hundred eighty-nine dollars and sixty-seven dollars ($389.67).

Regarding *********** complaint about their monthly payment, we want to clarify that the Line of Credit Agreement was provided and thoroughly explained before ********* signed the Agreement. The Agreement clearly outlined how fees and the balance were calculated, as well as details about the minimum payment due. Additionally, on the call ********* is referring to, the agent mentioned the majority of the minimum payment is going towards interest. The monthly statement shows the breakdown for reference.

In addition to the Agreement, ********* is supplied with a monthly statement that contains the minimum payment due along with how much of the minimum payment is credited to principal and interest.  Furthermore, the statement notifies ********* that if they only pay the minimum payment, the amount of interest owed over the life of the loan could increase as well as the time it takes to repay their balance. If ********* wants to reduce their monthly payment, they could consider paying more than the minimum amount due each month. If they have further questions, they may contact the branch where they originated their loan or contact the Customer Service Team at ***** *********

I was contacted by this company on August 15, 2024 about an online loan for 2000 dollars. They deposited money to my ***** bank account for 500 dollars then asked me to send it back to show the validity of said account. I then sent it back. When doing so they deposited 1000 dollars into my ***** ***** account. Then the next morning they deposited 500 dollars to my ***** account. After speaking to other bankers I immediately withdrew the money from my ***** account. I closed that account this morning and changed the account number(checking). I closed my ***** ***** account yesterday and spoke to a ***** ***** banker and a ***** banker and they both agreed that it sounded like fraud. I spoke to ***** ***** fraud dept today and they also agreed that it sounded like fraud. The company in question sent me several text messages threatening me that they will send a form to my bank to close my account. After speaking to both banks I was told they cannot close my accounts and they would have to take me to court. The accounts manager sent a text about 1 hour ago saying if I don't pay him the 1000 dollars by today, my account will be closed by Monday. As stated earlier I talked to both banks and they said I am the only one who can open or close any accounts. Actually the text came in at 1042 am est his closing words were "am **** sure about it." I did tell him he would get the money in two installments but he declined. If the loan was for 2000 dollars and you already sent me 1500 dollars, why can't you send me 500 more and it will be 2000 and I would honor the original contract. There was no online loan agreement for me to sign so I can download it to a file on my phone. I am currently dealing with two other loan companies and they are trying to work with me. I don't understand why should I send them back the money when they already deposited the money in my account. I am willing to pay it back but it would take about 3 weeks.
