July 2021, I was referred to Legacy Collision Repair for auto body work after an at fault accident in my 1967 Ford Mustang. The owner Crispin S*****, after seeing the vehicle, we discussed the insurance details, and body restoration that would be included etc., and he agreed to do the work. The insurance paid 3,118.51 minus the 500.00 deductible totaling 2,618.51 and was paid in full to Crispin before the work began. We later discussed a color change due to the possible visibility of being unable to perfectly match the existing House of Colours paint previously applied without having the previous paint codes. Crispin, sent me an estimate via email August 11/2021 with an pdf attached quote in the amount of 2,448.78 detailing the paint color change, cost, and supplies. We confirmed the total amount on August 24, 2021 at 10:48am when he reached out quoting "GM, I sent in the supplement for the paint price. We should be good. You would just have to cover the 2,448.78 for the additional work". I responded, "GM! Will this price address the rust area or not included?" He responded. "That would take care of the rust". I responded, Awesome! At 2:48pm he texted, "You ok with that price? We'll start taking it apart now and get this done for you." I responded, "Yes proceed". Several times throughout the collision repair I reached out via text concerning my vehicle, I would ask how were things going? He promised the car could be picked up at least three times and it was not ready and to my knowledge still not ready. 10/27/22 Crispin said the car was ready, when we arrived the car was not ready, visible damage remains on front where insurance has rendered full payment. The amount he wants is 3,955.86. Sales tax over applied, color change fee added, and imperfections throughout paint applied. He refused the agreed amount of 3,148.78 includes carpet change & deductible which I agree to. He says, the car will not leave until he gets paid. Please finish the job and adjust invoice.
