Randy (Wolf Spirit) came to house before to quote tree removal. We didn't use him for that but asked him 3/6/24 to make yard pretty since we were selling the house. I made it clear we needed lawn to look good to sell & our agreement was to lay fresh sod across whole front & side yard. Said he had to order the sod and I paid him in advance. When I asked, he said he prepares lawn before laying.He called me saying work was done & sent pics of a HALF DONE YARD, he underestimated the sod needed A LOT - said I'd need to pay him another $2,200 for sod PLUS labor to get rest of the job done - I declined. Initial quote was to be the cost for the WHOLE project. I was shocked to see BROWN dead sod. He claimed dormant. He NEVER once said sod could be BROWN nor dormant. Had he disclosed that, I would NOT have done the project. Other lawn people told me he did NOT prep yard - just plopped sod down on ground. AND laid WRONG kind (Bermuda) when we have fescue (I was told this by another professional who said job was sloppy and not done right). 3/17 I discovered he just laid the sod strips OVER sprinklers without testing. I had to pay another person to some out to FIND them UNDER sod since Randy didnt bother checking. Randy told me to take up the brown sod with the supplier even though they req'd to speak with the purchaser, Randy. Job was INCOMPLETE and NOT AS PROMISED and Randy was unwilling to issue any partial refund. I LOST $ for a job that was NOT done. I'M THE ONE who pointed out the sprinkler issue & I'M THE ONE who paid to get the sod removed since he laid the WRONG kind (maybe he doesnt know the diff between Bermuda and Fescue). I trusted this landscaper to help beautify my lawn and instead, he cost me $3k+, time, and yard looks WORSE than before. He refused to issue any refund & I asked him to pick up the sod to save me from having to pay someone. He neglected to respond. Terrible way to conduct business & certainly does NOT stand by his work & isn't trustworthy.
