I sent Farmers Telephone a Billing Error affidavit on June 16 2022. I gave them 10 business days to respond which I have not received a response yet. I will take further steps if needed.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/06) */ Customer subscribed to a voice line with several added features. The voice and features are subject to both governmental taxes and fees. FTC collects said charges and forwards to proper agencies. She also had a 25X3 Mbps Internet connection that has a static rate of $44.95 per month with no added fees or taxes. She was charged accordingly. Each month she paid less than what she owed and was subsequently disconnected on Feb. 17, 2022; she still does not have service. She maintains a balance of $129.77 and has in her possession a router that, if returned, would cover her balance and give her a credit in the amount of $45.23. She has been advised of this. She has had numerous phone conversations with the FTC Customer Service Department. Further, other calls have been made to the Customer Service Department by a person who said she is the customer but does not provide the necessary security information for verification. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) For this alleged debt I am requesting an audit and an audit trail contains but not limited to file ledger all accounting documents , transaction history,credit deposit ) Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/07/13) */ Customer called the FTC Customer Service Department since last post. The caller again refused to provide full information for verification of identity. Further, the caller said they would not go to store for review. This company has overcharged me many times in the past just for home internet and the customer service representatives are rude and hangs up when you ask too many questions.Business response

I get my Internet and phone service through Farmers telephone company. I have complained to Farmers telephone company about my Internet service since 2018 they have not been able to help me. I pay the bill of $135 each month and I'm not able to stream movies after 8 o'clock at night. My Internet service goes down and I can't watch movies after 8 PM this happens every night I have complained to Farmers telephone company and I don't have another Internet service in my area to go to. I would like to have my Internet service repaired so I can view movies after 8 PMBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/03) */ In order to assist customers with Internet issues, FTC has the technical capability to determine which reputable apps/platforms a customer on our fiber network on the U6 router is using. Examples of those apps/platforms are Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + and Paroumount+. According to our research, customer is not streaming on any of these platforms. Further, our records indicate that customer is not approaching his maximum bandwidth, so issues do not appear to be with Internet service. As part of our technical capability, we can also detect problems with devices and diagnose how they are performing. Problem could be with the streaming service the customer is using or the Google Chromecast device being used. The complaint is a bit confusing on our part because customer made a point of calling on April 22 to say "everything is working fine now...Jay repaired and did a WONDERFUL JOB!!!!" And that was after monitoring his service for four days.
