We purchased a mobile home from HomeMax with the understanding that it was an energy star rated home. Our sales person Gabe raved about the benefits of purchasing and energy star rated home. Energy Start meaning that the home is 30% more energy efficient and would have lower utility bills thus saving hundreds of dollars a year on energy costs, stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, higher level of insulation and most importantly a more comfortable living environment. We were told we needed to file a rebate form with the South Carolina Energy Office as we qualified for a tax credit rebate for purchasing an energy star home. We filled out and submitted the necessary paperwork. We received a call from the South Carolina Energy Office stating an energy star checklist was needed. I reached out to Gabe at HomeMax for this checklist, which he did not have and in turn reached out to the manufacturer and we were told our home was built as an energy star rated mobile home. When I reached back out to Gabe at HomeMax about this issue, I was told he would speak to the owner Dave about this and get back to me. I have not heard a word from HomeMax regarding this issue. I have not been contacted by phone or email and given a reply of what HomeMax intends to do regarding this matter. I asked HomeMax to honor the amount of the rebate we were due, again no response. Our purchase document is stamped as being sold as an energy star home by HomeMax.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/08/30) */ Mr. ******* called me this morning. I'm in the process of checking with the factory about his service, when he filed this complaint. We are trying to help him, but would ask him to not call the office and be rude to my staff. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/08/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I haven't been rude his staff lied to me and acted like he was taking my name and number and I asked him to read it back to me he admitted that he didn't write it down and they im trying to get them to realize how serious this problem is because the floor in my house is going to have to be replaced along with all the insulation underneath the house Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/09/03) */ My reply would be, he or she sighed a work order stating the work was complete and no other issues were noted. They are out of warranty. Thank you!
