On Monday the 21st of March I agreed to pay James Plumbing around $4,000 to replace 2 water heaters in my attic. The Plumbers asked where the water shutoff was and I said I would look. As I was looking they said they did not need it anymore. I continued to look. just as I found it I heard a cry from the attic. There was water running out of the Garage Ceiling, the pantry ceiling, the hallway ceiling, and the guest Bath ceiling. The plumber and my wife went with me to the water shut off and isolated it. The plumber then claimed that the leak was caused by a faulty joint on the water supply line that was not exposed until they tried to move the water heater and there for refused to accept any billing from A&I Restoration for their insurance. Had they shut off the water before starting to work there would have been no damage even if the line was faulty so I believe the damage should be paid by their insurance not mine. The water heaters were original to the house construction in 2007 meaning this line had not leaked in 15 years and only leaked when they started their work.Business response

Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/05/04) */ **** James plumbing agreed to pay 1/2 the costs as long as I withdrew my complaint. I told them I would have it marked resolved but they refused. I copied them on my last email to you and they paid A&I half the bill. I'm not really satisfied but I figured it's the best I'm going to get.
