On Jan. 10, I was referred by my provider to the ** for blood in my stool. She did not see me. The hospital did nothing but take my blood, which I paid for. They sent me home, doing nothing for me or telling me what to do. The nurse even said to me "I do not want to be there either." Now I am threatened regularly to pay over 1k to the hospital for services I did not receive. The mesages are threatening and scary, threatening to turn me to collections who will ruin my credit. I am sending this hospital a payment once or more a month since I went to the **! They are discriminating against me for not paying the bill in full nor putting the disputed amount on a "plan". Would you make car payments on a car you did not receive? No. They did not disclose the ** trip would be 1k. I currently cannot see medical help although I have been in excruciating pain for weeks because of this bill and the threats from this hospital. My financial situation diminishes daily as my daughter attempted suicide in February and almost died 3 times and was in the hospital 2 week. My brother was murdered on March 23 at age 47 leaving me 3 kids. I cannot pay 1k for something I did not receive! Their agent called me and said I would not be penalized nor have to pay while I am waiting on a financial application. Well now I am told by "Irish" at McLeod that is a lie. The threats are affecting my already declining health and mental health. Please help me!

I was seen at Loris Hospital and gave them my insurance card no out of pocket was needed according to them. I did not pay a co-pay, which should of been 300, so I was discharged from the hospital. A few weeks ago I received two bills from them, cool I will start making payments on them in which I did and that was not even a month ago I get a call from a collection agency today telling me that it is in collections that they are wanting 500 from me now. I am sorry I dont make that kind of money and two I was starting to make payments on my account and you send it to a collection agency. I sent in money and no letter has been sent to me since I made the payment so I can send another payment. This collection agency is an A%% and was not very nice. Now we can do this two ways Ill send you in monthly payments or you can eat the cost of what I owe your company and I will hire my own lawyer for negligence because when I was seen I was told nothing was wrong with me no x rays no nothing and you want to be paid to tell me nothing,. Lousy service from your hospital, now I have to have major surgery on my neck and shoulder and I will lose money from work due to down time. So your lousy ************************************** to you because I diagnosed myself with another doctor.

Loris hospital has garnished my SC refund yet again on a medical bill on my husband back from 2007 before we were even married. I know the law and I understand the garnishment law for medical bills. However, I also know the law in our state that medical bills have a statute of limitations which is three years. We are talking about a bill well over 12 years ago which I wasn't even a part of and garnishing my refund for it. My husband has been fighting for disability since 2019 in our glorious state after an injury as ems (first responder) and has increased anxiety/depression and uncontrolled pain. Since this accident, I have been the sole provider working and now unable to pay all our bills in the last year because of this hardship. However, I continue to fight and work daily against all the battles that face me with his care, my own, and trying to survive. Now, I have Bank of America sueing me for debts I can't pay back and forced to file bankruptcy. These last few years have been so rough on me emotionally and physically; I am surprised I am still here trying to surface from all my finacial nightmares and emotional stress. At 48, I never thought this would happen to me. It did. I had to leave my job of 16 years to take a travel job too make 10 dollars more an hour to hopefully help my financial problems. It's not. My dog got injured and needed emergency surgery. Just to get her back; I have to provide half of the money for her care of 4500.00 by December 25th. No human should ever be forced to suffer as much as I have recently. After all I have given in my 18 years as a nurse and my husband ems first responder of 25 years; our laws do not help us when we become injured or having a financial hardship. Everyone turns their back and many question why our suicide rate is so high. We break just like everyone else, we are no different. I think it is so wrong loris took my money and should be fined for every refund they took over the 3 year statute.

Business Response /* (1000, 18, 2022/12/29) */ This is regarding complaint ********. *************** was addressed the complaint, but she no longer works with Mcleod Loris Seacoast. We have contacted the patient's wife who entered the complaint and informed her that we have removed his accounts from our set-off debt program. The statute of limitations does not apply in this case because action has been taken each year. Therefore, the three-year timeline that is described in the complaint is not applicable. To assist the complainant with her financial situation, we have made the decision to help with removing these accounts from the set-off debt program under Loris Community Hospital.

I visited McLeod Seacoast Loris In January of 2020 due to a motorcycle accident. I broke my collar bone and had to have X-rays. I presented the lady with my insurance info, paid my Co-Pay, but the hospital never sent my insurance information over. My insurance has confirmed they were never contacted and now I have 616 dollars worth of bills in collections killing my credit.
