Fence wasn't built completely and was built poorly. Owner will not uphold life time warranty. Owner ignores my calls and text messages.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/21) */ Mr. ****** demanded free services that were not contracted. Bottom tension wire is not standard for residential chain link fence, yet Mr. ****** demanded it be installed. After enough harassment, I finally installed the tension wire FREE of charge. He has since proceeded to harrass me to the point of being blocked. The problem with his claim of not fulfilling the lifetime workmanship warranty is that the tension wire he is complaining about was a $2000 add-on he was given for free and is not contracted and therefore does not fall under ANY warranty. The fence was completed last March/April and was paid in full. This customer has continuously asked for more and more free work, and my wish is for Mr. ****** to cease contact before I file a police report. Furthermore, wrong company... as we are no longer a part of the "Midlands Fence" alliance, and now operate as our own separate entity. Apparently it's not for his so called company. I would have requested it in the beginning had I not known. Lastly, I've left 3 voice messages and 2 text messages requesting job completion. I will seek another legitimate fence company to complete the fence in full. He does good job over all. Just be sure to complete the details of work before making payment.Initial Complaint

We hired Midlands Fence to install fencing at our home on 10/1/2021 with an expected completion date around Thanksgiving 2021. We paid a deposit ($4,250) for the purchase of the materials at the time we signed the contract. In the beginning there were multiple delays and we rarely received updates from Alex unless I reached out to him multiple times asking for an update. Eventually, after multiple delays and adjustments to the schedule that were again not met, Alex told us the material was not available and we agreed to cancel the contract and have our deposit refunded, that was on 4/21. On 4/29 he stated we would have our refund within 14 days and it has not yet been received. I have reached out a few times since then and received no reply. Original Contract was with Midlands Fence however name changes to Midlands Fence of South Carolina during this process.Initial Complaint

The owner of this company named Alex is so unprofessional and a scam artist. He told me he would complete my fence by the end of May, he never gave me a specific date. On too of that, he took 4,000 from me without completing the job and I'm currently going through court to get my funds back. I have messages from him calling me broke because I no longer wanted him to complete my fence because of his lack of professionalism. He hasn't sent any funds to me yet and lied about issuing a check to me for any amount. Please don't do business with him, his reviews on ****** are fake. He's an evil person who scams women out of money. He will be shut down soon!Initial Complaint

I hired midlands fence to build a 6' wooden privacy fence for my home. I have had several issues with this company. The first of which is that Alex, the only employee who worked on the project, did not bother to mark where my irrigation heads were, so when I turned on my irrigation system, I had 3 heads on the outside of the fence line. I contacted him to get him to fix this, but he refused. Additionally, one of the gates that he built began to bow outwards only a few weeks after installation. The latch mechanism no longer works and the whole gate needs to be replaced, and we have only had the fence for a few months. He has not returned any of my texts or phone calls. Very very poor customer service.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/24) */ Contact Name and Title: Alex D***** Contact Phone: Owner Contact Email: ****************@gmail.com First off, my contract clearly states that I put the fence where you tell me and I, nor midlands fence, are responsible for the placement of the fence. He asked for a straight line across his back yard and KNEW it was well within his curved back yard's perimeters... my contract also clearly states that midlands fence is not responsible for landscaping. That is a landscapers job. This is the third time that the couple has tried to make me responsible for their mistakes. NO! I'll happily solve this in court... wait until they see that bill! Finally, I have had zero contact regarding a bowing gate, and had complaining party used his texts to tell me there was a problem with the gate I would have happily responded, but he just demanded I call him... I don't respond to demands. Please note that the customer has paid in full which legally accepts the fence. I will happily provide a copy of the contract signed by the complaining party if you have questions. At this point, however, due to the misleading and unacceptable nature of this complaint, I am cutting all ties with property owner and wish them the best of luck. I'm a very easy person to talk to and receive zero phone calls or zero texts with information until this complaint. I asked the owner to give me a call so I could discuss the gate. I did not "demand" as he suggested in his response. I will gladly screenshot that text message. All I wanted was for the gate to be fixed. And I attempted to reach out for a response, but was NEVER contacted by the owner, thus the reason for my complaint. I will fix the gate myself, as clearly this company will not take responsibility for poor craftsmanship. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/09/24) */ Again, this is the first I'm hearing of a gate problem, and you decided to contact a third party than directly tell me the problem. If a message doesn't tell me what a problem is then I have to assume it is a low priority. My craftsmanship has nothing to do with warped 2x4s, and again... had you given me any indication what the issue was before this I would have responded as soon as I was back to work.
