Gave $30,000 to this company to make a boat. They said it would be ready in March. It’s now July and they haven’t started it yet and will not even give a date when they plan on starting it. I requested my money back to get a boat elsewhere and they refuse to give the deposit back. I feel this company is scamming people by taking deposits and not producing any boats.Business response

The project is a custom project. there is no dedicated date for completion. The contract states 50% non refundable deposit and time for completion is not stated but given that this is a custom built product made by human hands it takes time and there are delays. There is never a project we don't deliver on and this product will be completed as a quality USCG vessel and delivered to specifications of such.

I am rejecting this response because:Your contract and you are misleading people. You have no right to keep our deposit and not provide a timeline. That is theft. You have had our money for over a year, and have no intention of building our boat. Everyone beware, do not sign this companies contract. We have had to retain an attorney just to get our deposit back.

American Pontoon was contracted to do work and a $15,000 cashier's check was delivered 7/21/21. We met Adrian and Angela R****(owners) at that time and discussed project. We were told a boat motor should be coming in the first of 2022 and then the remainder of the contract, which included fabrication of a pontoon, could be fulfilled. After unanswered phone calls and emails we did reach Angela R**** by phone in April of 2022 and she informed us that Adrian, Angela's husband, had passed. She assured us that the contract would b fulfilled. The answering machine now says "memory full" and her last email simply said "We are working diligently...". We simply want her to call us to discuss options and timelines. We are 1200 miles from there and just want her to work with us to avoid litigation.Initial Complaint

I ordered a new motor in July of 2021 and paid for it. They said it was coming in, they the owner died and they said they lost their franchise. Now I need the return of the money i placed up front for new motor. Now they are saying the Estate lawyer is controlling the money from. My question is, how are they going to pay for motors they obtain if they can not return prior payments.Business response

once the estate is settled all monies will be released. when Suzuki releases motors we will receive them in order of receipt. customer was informed once this is resolved his account will be settled.
