      A contract was signed 9/16/2021, for remodeling to our existing home, He was paid 1/3 of his total estimate as a deposit to begin work the following week (9/20/21). A wall was removed, 9/30/21. Nothing since. Can we get our deposit back? Can we change the contract.? 11/24/21. Attempted to contact Michael Gantt, by sending written correspondence, certified letter came back to us stating "undeliverable to address". This was sent to address in contract . (*** ****** Street, *******, SC 29320 "Contractor" )

      I am responding to the complaint. I informed the ********** that I would work them in the best I could that I was swamped with work I have contacted them every week informing them the issues and also was out sick for 3 weeks I was in route to the home today and have turned back and tried to cancel a weeks motel reservations for 6 of us to stay in **** **** SC for the week to complete this job. The ********** are breaching the contract and will be refunded minus the weeks worth of pay for my guys and also the motel stay.

      Mr ***** told us on day of signing,  09/16/21, that he would begin work the following Tuesday,  09/21/21.  He told us he needed his brother to do some electrical work and other than that he would have a small crew, ( not 6 helpers.)  Nothing about being "swamped".  (We have heard that from others and were listening for that. ) He did text us,  even though his contract stated in Item # 26 that communications will be given in writing.  The address in contact was incorrect.  Postal service returned letter stating "Undeliverable , no mail receptacle".  We did not agree on hotel accomodations prior  We, as Clients, do not feel he has been responsive to our reasonable needs or concerns.

      I have no problem with scheduling with the ********** to complete there job. I can be at the residence on Jan 3rd and can complete it within 2weeks. If they would like for this to be done I ask that all anger be set aside and let us complete this task. My address has not changed and I was asking for motel accommodations only because of the complaint filed against me when I was in route the day I received it to do the job. If they do not want it done starting the week of the 3rd. Then we need to Come to a resolution and contract breach.

      The Clients are willing to have Joey Gantt finish the wall and floor that he removed  between the kitchen and DR, completing this by January 31, 2022, for the balance of our $7,162.75. payment to him, trusting there will be no further expenses . Then release the clients from the remainder of the contract.  

      The Clients are willing to accept a refund of $6,000.00, and a statement severing them from the remainder of the contract to Gantt Construction.

      Either of these options will help restore our confidence in Gantt Construction.

      We (Clients) need a bit more to agree to have him come to our house.  Clients want release from contract and, in writing,  exactly how long theis completion of wall between kitchen and DR will take and how many others he will be employing to help.  There will be no hotel accommodations  provided by clients.  We were told he would see us the 3rd week in September.  We have no address to respond to the business according to contract that changes to contract must be in writing.
