I bought a vehicle from uncle joes in March. First week had to have a new starter. Had to buy 8 tires due the tires keep showing wires and rear tire tilt inward. Had to buy a key fob due to vehicle only starting 1 out of 10 tries. Bought a new battery beginning of July. Had another battery. Replaced. New alternator no heat or a/c have when my husband tried to stop vechile front left brskes pads broke in half and fell off. I have contacted uncle joes and asked for a refund on key fob and freon being put in they refused. I have constantly asked to be put into another vehicle due to all the issues with the one we have was told NO..I have tried to get them I have told them everything we had had an issue. I have not felt safe driving it Something needs to be done with them. I have even seen a lot of negative reviews about them unfortunately it was after. Purchasing it We have only had this vehicle 4 months

I did contact then telling them that I had to buy a battery and key fob along with having a garage pur freon in when  I yltold them this I asked for compensation on the key fob.when we did purchase  the vechile I asked if it was reporting to credit bureau I was told no..well it is showing on my credit report. I want that removed.. we never received a 10 day letter and I had not had any calls from them at all. No voice mail  or text.  Ever since we had the vechile I told them about the problems we were having. I even asked if they would be able to put us in something  different I personally  was afraid to drive it because I couldn't get it started and didn't want to get stuck. We even had to buy 8 tires for it. I even told them the rear tires were committing in an angle  meaning the bottom of tires were going outward. Which is not normal

      Re: Complaint from ****** ********

Below is a response to the complaint filed on August 8, 2023. The response includes details on car issues,

A response to the repairs, and broken promises on past due payments which ended up causing a repossession.

      On March, 30, 2023 ***** ******* and ****** ******** purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey, vin#******

From Uncle Joe’s of SC. On April 13, 2023 the car was taken to ********* Automotive and it had a bad starter. All cars sold have a 2 year, 36000 mile warranty which does cover the starter. The customer pays a $100 deductible toward a repair. They only had $50 of the deductible. We agreed to carry the balance of the deductible till next months payment. On May 15th, 2023 they called stating they were having trouble starting the car again. They were instructed by Shannon L** to take the car to ******* **** * ******* in Spartanburg to get checked out. They had to purchase a new battery & get key fob replaced. On July 17, 2023 They called again stating the car was having starting issues again. The car was towed at no expense to the customer to *******’s. They located a bad battery which was replaced, repaired a blower motor wire and an oil change. We paid the shop for the repair and had the car brought to Uncle Joes on July 20, 2023. The battery they had purchased was bad and were told they could get a refund. During this time, Mr. ******* and Ms. ******** became delinquent on their account.

I met with them personally on July 20, 2023 along with their account rep. and set up a payment plan.  I normally would have collected a partial on the past due amount along with the repair deductible, but agreed with a payment of $100 and a promise to make a full payment on August 1st. The account rep made calls on August 1st, 2nd and 3rd with no response. An order for repossession was put out at the end of the day on August 3rd. The car was located by the repossession company at a used car dealership on August 4th in Spartanburg. A 10 day letter of repossession was sent out as required by law on August 4th.

I understand new and used cars can have repair issues that can be frustrating. We make every attempt to work with the customers and shops directly to resolve car repair issues.

I started having trouble with the Prius that Uncle Joe sold me. Sharon at the office told me to take it to ******* **** on ******** *** ** ***********. I did, on March 31. The mechanic there told me that it was the motor and that was something that they could not work on there. So I picked my car up. I called Sharon back, she gave me a number to call to get the motor fixed. The lady I called said that they could not work on anymore motors that they were backed up. So I called Sharon back once again, and she told me to take it back to ******* **** and she would find someone to work on the motor and have it picked up there. A week later I called to check on the status and Sharon told me they thought it was fixed and she would call me right back. I did not hear from her, so the next day, I called her back. She then told me, yes it was the motor and they had to have someone fix it. ( which I thought was what we had already established) She tells me that Uncle Joe is going to talk to me about putting me in another car, that mine is worth about $800 now. I went up to the car lot on Thursday, April 20, and Uncle Joe tells me that the only way I can get into something else is to pay, again, taxes and tags and a new down payment. Not to mention nothing I have paid for the past two years on the Prius, was going to go towards this new car he was trying to put me in. I told him no, and that I wanted the motor fixed. Today is April 24 and they still have my car and have not started working on the motor. Not to mention that I owe 7K on the Prius which they admitted was only work $ 800.00 before the motor is put in. No way a motor can make it work anymore than 2K. I tried to get it refinanced and have tried to trade it in, but I am upside on the loan seeing as they are charging me 29 % interest. I do not feel like he has treated me fairly. I have paid 2 years on this car, and have never been late on a payment. Now I am expected 7k more on a 2K car.
