On Dec. 13, 2021, I paid an out-of-pocket expense not covered by my home warranty company to Complete Comfort Air in the amount of $650 for the installation of a new gas furnace within the crawl space of my home to provide heat to the first level. On April 9, 2022, I lost full HVAC service to the first level of my home (heat and air conditioning). On April 12, 2022, an alternate HVAC company came to my home to evaluate the problem. Upon inspection of the crawl space, it was identified that the gas furnace installed by Complete Comfort Air was installed incorrectly. Specifically the unit casing was completely damaged resulting in the inability of proper closure of the door, gaps in the casing which appeared to be attempted to be corrected with duct tape, and the furnace was not installed level. Per the HVAC technicians on site, they refused to "touch" such poor craftsmanship. Particular concern was placed on installation violations that presented as dangerous with gas line. Also it was expressed that duct work was not properly connected and the old furnace which was supposed to have been removed remained under the home. I am currently without HVAC service and pending review by my home warranty company. I paid $650 for charges not covered by warranty company. When I requested a detailed invoice as to what the $650 was for, I was told by Complete Comfort Air that it was to cover modifications and fabrications for installation and that they could not provide a detailed invoice. Clearly proper installation did not occur. I trusted Complete Comfort Air to complete the work per industry standards. Complete Comfort Air refused to install furnace until I paid the $650 up front. Despite my challenge, they essentially held my furnace installation ransom until I paid. This is the exact reason why I did not want to pay a contractor before work was completed. There was no intent or follow up to ensure job was completed correctly. They had their money and clearly did not care.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/18) */ We have no contract with this homeowner. We work for the home warranty company. This is the first time ever hearing about this issue. The customer nor the home warranty company never reached out to let us know there was a problem. We reached out to customer on Dec.16 2021 to follow-up with homeowner and make sure everything was working right and never got a return call. This unit was installed on Dec.14 2021 and now 4 months later were getting a call back. We have since reached out to the customer and are returning to home to see what is wrong.
