            I received a CT scan on May 5, 2021. The total charge is covered by my medical insurance, Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I continue to get calls from a collections agency, emails saying my account is past due and letters in the mail. I have contacted every department I can think of in East Cooper Medical Center and still haven't gotten any results. I called the patient advocate, Angela O****, who does not return my calls. BC/BS says they will pay the claim if East Cooper will provide an authorization number. I have asked for this number and no department, including medical records, seems to be able to provide it to me. My orthopedists office is also trying to resolve this issue and they haven't had any success. My name is now in a collection agency and I am afraid my credit rating will be affected for an charge that is not my responsibility.

            Horrible experience. They sent my payment after having my daughter in March 2023 to collections even though it was enrolled in auto pay. They also thought they could add 3x the amount to my bill without me noticing a month after delivery. I called and they claimed they did not do that nor sent it into collections. They also denied adding a significant amount to my bill that was incorrect. It was corrected in my account to the correct amount a few weeks after I contacted someone from East Cooper Medical.They asked I stay enrolled in auto pay. I canceled the auto pay and am seeking to help others avoid this fraudulent business. In addition to this I was denied a room when going into labor.I was dilating, which the nurse knew but was sent home with a $1000 emergency bill and told there was no room for me to have my baby that night. I had to go back to the hospital that evening, only a couple hours after my first visit because I had excruciating labor pains only to find out I was at a 5 and ready to have this baby. This experience is very upsetting and I hope no one has to receive this service as I did.
