Roof was to be replaced on October 21, 2021. Southline Roofing & Exterior LLC did the job in two days. During that time they not only tore off the existing roof, but my siding, window trim, hit a water line, and the refrigerant line for the HVAC. I had may conversations with ******* *****, who claims to be one of the owners. He refused to pay for any of the damages they had caused. I had never received or signed a contract with them. After a lot of back and forth I was given their insurance company info. ******* was at my home and told me that his insurance carrier wouldn't pay for the damages. That it "wasn't his problem" that the resulting damages along with water damages inside my home occurred. I am working with his insurance company for the damages he caused. Nothing has been paid to date. When his insurance company adjuster came out he advised the nail gun compressor was set too high and the nails went through the shingles which is why they hit the water and HVAC lines. The roof needs to be torn off and replaced. He is threatening to sue me when they haven't even installed the roof correctly. I want everyone to be aware of what they are dealing with before they make the same mistake and hire this company. I have email correspondence to validate what is going on with this company. What a huge mistake it was to do any business with them.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/02/21) */ ***Document Attached*** Ms. ******, Upon the installation of your new roof our crew accidentally punctured your PECS water line as well as your HVAC line. It was due not to negligence or lack of knowledge but due to improper installation from the contractor who built your home out of code. The water and hvac lines were not properly secured to a raftor and instead were touching roofing plywood which lead to the unfortunate accident. Southline Roofing & Exteriors agreed to cover the costs however you insisted on going through insurance which was not a problem, however once insurance became involved Southline Roofing & Exteriors no longer had jurisdiction over the incident. As I mentioned before, since you are having the insurance handle the pay out, Southline Roofing is not responsible for any final settlements or any steps you may be taking with insurance. We have evidence to show that your Pecs waterline and HVAC were improperly installed. Prior to having any company come out to fix the punctured lines, they were pressing against the plywood and were not properly secured to a rafter. That is the reason why the roofing nail that penetrates the shingle and through the plywood inevitably punctured your lines. Building codes state that all utility lines must be secured to a rafter or joice and not against roofing plywood for this specific reason. As far as the roof being installed improperly Southline Roofing & Exteriors offered multiple times to have a structural engineer or anyone of your choosing to come out and inspect the roof however we never received a response. We completed the work as stated in the estimate provided to you August 02,2021.We sent out a contract via docusign through email , however it was never signed due to lack of communication via our office and with you. Although it was not signed, you acknowledged the work that was to be completed by sending a 30% down deposit via ACH request which was also sent through email. Our contracts are an exact copy of the estimates we send out prior to moving forward which you received in August. In the fine print you will notice that it states we are not responsible or reliable for any improperly installed utility lines. Our employees did their expected job and did not damage or demolish your home. The only incident that occurred was puncturing the lines which we have stated several times were improperly installed. Like mentioned above we tried to meet with you and an inspector or anyone with roofing knowledge to show that the roof was not improperly installed but received no response in relation to having someone come out only to having the roof completely replaced which would be unnecessary. We try our best to accommodate homeowners at all cost. We tried to work with you one on one before you involved insurance. However once insurance is involved we were no longer responsible nor liable for what happens after. At the end of the day Southline Roofing & Exteriors main priority is to walk away from this with the knowledge that we tried everything we could in order to help you and accommodate you as best as possible and for final payments to be made. If there are nay more questions or concerns you may always reach out to us and we will try our best to get back in a timely and professional manner.
