I hired this company to do 4 jobs for us. 2 separate jobs of concrete, a fence, and a sprinkler system. Just a couple days after the concrete was done, it was drying uneven. When reached out to the company, after multiple attempts, he came by and told us that our dogs must've caused the problem. Then, we had another issue where he tried to run a pipe under our concrete and didn't realize how much water damage it would cause and now that whole part of the concrete is chipping away and breaking.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/03/17) */ I would like to start off by saying that we have not been dealing with ****** ******* this whole time but with her boyfriend ****** *********** instead. The only time that I can recall that ****** was present was when we were working on the first concrete slab and had a talk about their ac pipe, they did not want it running on top of the concrete because it wouldn't look nice, so I told them we could run it underneath the concrete instead, how we've done it for many other concrete customers before, and they loved the idea. They were happy about it and consented to it. So we proceeded to go that route. Unfortunately, after some time they had an issue with it back flowing to the house in which we immediately proceeded to come by and fix it for them at no extra cost. After that we didn't hear from them until about 4 months later because they wanted to have another concrete slab extension done by us. There was no complaint and they even wanted more work done. He proceeded to wait to make a decision on the other extension and then got back to me about another 6 months later. Still no complaints. I gave him an estimate again which he found too high and I went ahead and lowered for him since he chose us to do their work. He agreed. He also recommended us to his next door neighbor and we ended up doing their concrete extension at the same time. We came by and started working on the second concrete slab extension and his neighbor's. Once we were done with everything we noticed the new concrete portion of the slab and the neighbors were curing very slowly and looked like it was leaving marks behind. They contacted me to let me know about it and I immediately came by to have a look. ****** and I both came up with our own conclusions as to what could have been the problem, but we both agreed to give it some time, see how it turns out and take it from there. It turned out the concrete was not drying uneven but curing with marks which disappeared after it cured completely. ****** also took the time to bring up some water marks that appeared on the first concrete slab we did from a year ago. I told him we would take care of it and did so at no extra cost. We came by and patched it. So after giving the concrete some time to cure turns out it was just slow curing after all. ****** proceeded to apologize to me because of the way he acted towards me and we moved on and left it at that. Almost a year later he sent me a video about the patch we did on the first concrete slab saying it came off with a leaf blower. It is unusual for concrete to chip off by the strength of a leaf blower, but more likely to chip because of a high pressure machine. It must have been either cracked and then power washed or something along those lines. Either way I received the video on March 2nd which was also the same day they had sent a complaint to BBB for the first time. After he sent me the video I replied about 2 days later. I had no idea about the complaint to the BBB until now. When I was able to answer by March 4th I asked him if it would be ok if I gave him a refund for that patch that chipped off even though we did it at no extra cost. He was ok with it. I offered $100 which was more than enough for that small patch. He came back to me saying it wasn't enough on the same day. Since it was Friday afternoon I replied on Monday March 7th with that I believed $100 was more than enough but that I was willing to stretch it out to $200 for him. I never heard back from him after that and now I'm receiving this complaint. We tried everything in our power to work things out with him. We gave him discounts, we fixed at no extra costs and we even offered a refund for the small patch. Both the neighbors that have hired us for jobs have had no complaints about it and the neighbor they asked us to do a concrete slab for, loved it and found it to be a very affordable price compared to other companies out there. We really take pride in what we do and love to keep our customers happy at all times. I'm sorry they feel this way and it turned out like this. I would also like to mention that I have written proof of almost everything I mentioned since the main form of communication with Steve was via text messages.
