Buyer beware... So...we had granite countertops installed We used Thompson's on 544 in ******** because they were recommended to us by a local contractor. BAD experience! From picking out the granite to installation; we'd never use these folks again! It began with being made to wait in the showroom for a good 30-40 minutes (when we were told to show up there to pick out granite) only to be told they thought we were someone else & pulled a slab that was not our order. They were very tight lipped about how they would cut the stone, the edge, etc. Day of installation was a disaster! They made 3 THREE wrong cuts in the granite! They do not know how to measure! They brought a piece of granite that was a completely different color than the rest & tried to tell us the color will change! They did this because they measured wrong & had to get a new piece. We had to fight, I mean fight with them to get them to fix what they messed up! They did but it took us hours with their installers & on the phone with the supervisor & threatening NOT to pay the balance to get them to do what they are supposed to do! Then they damaged our cabinets during installation because they pretty much slammed the stone down! The cabinet bowed a bit. They leave your house a mess of dirt & dust. They don't move appliances or remove the sink, you have to get someone to do all of that or do it yourself. They don't caulk around sink & the granite -- you have to do that too! They do installs for **** ***** * ***** as well. We bought directly from Thompson's though.
