Per the Magnolia OBGYN contract all prenatal visits past confirmation of pregnancy, delivery and the postpartum visit are included in the global bill that is paid in monthly installments prior to the childs delivery. After my child was born my insurance was billed for the amount in the contract. Now following my postpartum visit my insurance has again been billed and Im told I may have additional fees even though I did not have labs or any procedures. I was told my refund would take 8 to 10 weeks post payment from the insurance for the post partum visit. I was expected to pay promptly but they dont seem to believe in returning money promptly. I was laughed at and told it was policy not to pay money back in a timely manner.

In regard to the complaint from ******************************* regarding a refund request, Magnolia OB/GYN makes every effort to return any overpayment to the patient within 30 business days of the request of the patient, provided all medical charges have been posted and all claims have been adjudicated.  In ************************ case, it is noted that she requested a refund of her credit on 9/12/2023, and she had an appointment on that date.  She was informed by the ************ that her refund would pend the posting and payment of this date of service, but that once final payment was received her refund would be processed.  ******************** called on 9/21/23 for a status update and she was advised of the same.  Unfortunately, I believe she was told that the processing time is **** weeks, but that information was given in error, as it normally only takes 30 business days, and the employee who made this statement has been counseled on the same.  On 9/25/23 ******************** called again, stating that she "is not going to stop calling because she overpaid and we owe her money."  Charges for her 9/12/23 appointment were posted on 9/19/23 and final adjudication by her insurance was received on 9/26/23.  However, the refund request had already been submitted for pre-processing; this was done on 9/22/23.  Her refund check was mailed on 10/5/2023.

Per federal regulation, requests for refunds are to be finalized within 30 business days of receipt for same.  ******************** did make the request on 9/12/23, however, due to outstanding claims, there was not truly a balance on her account until 9/26/23.  Regardless, ************************ refund was finalized on 10/5/23, 23 days after her initial request, which is within federal regulations.

In August of 2022 I had started going to Magnolia OB/GYN because I became pregnant. While going there was a switch in my insurance and I was told they would not accept my insurance and that I would have to pay out of pocket until it was resolved, but that I should not worry because I would be reimbursed once I had the baby. I then ended up paying over $660. In April of 2023 I had called the office about receiving a reimbursement. They then informed me that it would take about a month. I recalled in May to be informed that it was proceed by the insurance company and just waiting for a signature by the office physician and then it would be mailed to me. I never received said check so I recalled in June and was told by ****** that it was never fully processed and that I would still need to wait until it was fully processed by the insurance company. In July I recalled to be told it was still being processed. In August and I have called more than 4 times with no call back. On August 23rd I was able to talk to **** in the billing department who informed me that it was indeed fully paid by the insurance company on June 26th, but since the office manager had not yet given the check to the physician to sign, I would not be receiving my check. Once, asked how long that could take I was told there was no time line. I then asked to speak to the office manager, to which she said she is not in the office. I then explained that I had asked to speak to the office manager before and she never seems to be able to return my call. I was then told that there was nothing they could do and that it was just a long process. I have been paying interest on this money now, for more than 9 months now, with no end in sight. I feel as though I have been more than understanding, and just want what is owed to me. I completely understand them waiting to pay me until the insurance company pays them, however per **** the insurance company paid them out on June 26th and it is now August 23rd.

They have refused to send my medical records to my new doctor and have owed me a credit of over $800 since December 2021. I have called repeatedly only to be told that they would send out my refund at some point in the week I called them. It has now been two months and six phone calls.
