      Date of Service: 7/16/22 to 7/23/22 Amount Paid: $795 Expected Service: Reserved campsite rental with full electricity, water, sewer, and cable Nature of Dispute: A power surge occured on the evening of 7/21/22 and power was not restored until 7/22/22. We were without electricity to air condition the camper or the use of a medically required CPAP machine. We were unable to sleep the entire night due to the conditions of the camper (85 degrees inside, no electricity for CPAP) which ruined the last 2 days of our vacation. Our camper suege protector was also damaged (see attached picture). Services were not provided as per our vacation rental agreement. Resolution Attempts: No staff from the campground ever contacted us during the power issue. No emails, no phone calls, or texts. We were without any information except what was provided by the electrical company completing repairs when we asked. We had to drive to the front office to speak onsite staff. We asked for one night compensation and were denied. We were instructed to dispute the credit card charge if we wished.

      Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/08/04) */ Our records indicate the following notification was hand delivered and given to the guests at campsite #748 on 7/22/2022: Due to unforeseen circumstances a power outage occurred on July 22, 2022, at Pirateland Camping Resort. The outage was reported to PirateLand personnel at approximately 12 o'clock a.m., at which time we responded by contacting Santee Cooper Electric Company. Once on-site Santee Cooper was unable to fully remedy the situation and PirateLand contacted an Electrician who arrived on property at approximately 4 o'clock a.m. Full power was restored as of 9 o'clock a.m. PirateLand's management team recognizes this disruption caused an inconvenience to our guests, however, are pleased with the response time of on call staff, Santee Cooper, and Mancil Electric. We apologize for the trouble caused and attached you will find a One Night Free Coupon for a future stay.
