My parent called their niece over to get a written estimate for any roof repair or replacement since they were not familiar with roofers in the area and thought they would be able to supply them with the estimate needed, however they were very mistaken. After repeated attempts to get the paper they had my parents sign so they could contact the insurance company they finally sent a copy over a month later when my parents asked me to get involved as their POA. My parents were not aware they had signed a paper they gave Jayne Roofing the ability to contact the insurance company, and had been told the paper could be torn up if they were uncomfortable with it. However when I called to let them know my parents were uncomfortable and would like them to tear it up..the owners refused and said we have a contract now, that didnt go over well with us. Still no written estimate had been given.. we were asked why did we want a estimate and that we didnt need one. I explained if my parents allowed them to do the roof replacement we needed a written estimate we did not want any surprises on the end. They said they would not schedule or order any material until my parents paid them the insurance ck of around $6700 +$500 upfront and they would file another claim with insurance to see how much more they could get them to pay. He property is a 67 single wide mobile home. We later found out had no rot, or water damage or leaks, it however would need to change the shingles soon due to some wind damage and age, elements from coast. My parents decided to halt working with Jayne roofing due their rudeness and lack of respect for them and their property. No work on property was ever done other than a improvised small tarp. But it has not kept them from claiming they did work and trying to force my parents to pay them thousand for work not done. As my parents POA and my parents we would not recommend dealing with this company unless you have a written estimate in hand.
