Although my child has been a patient since birth and has been referred by Palmetto Peds to see other specialist. We’ve even been Sept 2nd to see Dr. grace. On October 22nd after taking my child in for a sick visit as a follow up to the initial issue as advised by nurse grace. During check in I requested my child’s records in an event to be proactive if we have to see another doctor. Another staff member who was on the phone at the time interrupted our check to let us know patient records are $15 and that the center doesn’t see part time patience’s that I would need to take my child elsewhere to be seen. In shock and not wanting to make a scene we left. I called the doctors when we returned home to escalate the issue and get more clarity. The lady that interrupted admitted to mishearing the conversation and apologized. My child was still not seen and I am still looking for care. As We just signed new patient paperwork in the 9/2 to update any old information. As I commented on Google reviews and suggested more trying the response of “We have reviewed this complaint and do not feel this this accurately describes the event in question.“ I am more than sure the staff front office staff that ill advised us to leave as my child is part time if she has seen another doctor, and was the same women that intervened on the phone call again to save her own tail. As a black women raising another little girl I would suggest customer service and sensitivity training.
