In November we had Palmetto Enclosure install an EZ breeze patio enclosure system. We paid as expected in full upon installation with the understanding that a window would need to be reordered and installed at a later date. Additionally, the company promised to return to correctly caulk/seal the gaps and screw down the doorway threshold. We have made repeated attempts to communicate with the company but cannot elicit a response.Business response

My husband and I hired Palmetto Enclosure to install a new enclosed screened in porch. They disposed of the old porch into our backyard. This is was 12-1. Then, on 12-3, an employee from Palmetto Enclosure came to pick up the yard trash in our backyard. Both my husband and I were at work and when I came home around 5:30, there was a big truck and flatbed trailer that was in the drive. He was tying down the debris. Right after that, my husband got a text from our neighbor that we had a water line leak in our front yard. I had to go out and the water was everywhere. I shut the valve off to the house. We had no water that night and the next day, I called Palmetto Enclosure and explained their employee had run over the water line with the heavy trailer to get to the trash. They called me back and said the employee denied it. ***** ***** came out to look at it and then he called a plumber to come and fix it. The plumber came out and said that someone had run across the yard to our back fence and he said "what a coincidence that you have this damage at the same time someone came with a heavy truck and trailer to pick up the debris in the back" He noted everything he did and noted on the bill that this was the reason why the water main was broken. I contacted ***** and gave him a copy of the bill for 440.00. He has not paid this bill and I need to be refunded what we paid the plumber. Also, I had complained about how the railing was done and was told no one else had complained. The railing has sharp edged gaps and I was afraid my grandchildren could cut their hands or feet. I am only asking for the plumbers bill to be refunded back to us.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/10) */ We installed screen walls for this person a cuples days after we finished Marshall called my project manager and stated that we drove over her water line and brake it. We contacted our workers and ask them if they drove on the lawn, both stated they never drove on lawn they carried all materials from the back to the front where their my employees are instructed truck and trailer was on the driveway (as the customer stated in her complaint. My lead guy told me me when he walked to the backyard at the beginning of the project the ground was soaked, all of my employees are instructed to never drove on the yard. The customer contacted us on saturday with the problem, I was there within an hour to look at the problem, I seen track of a lawnmower near the line and thought that have been the problem, the neighbor came out and stated to me and ****** the previous owner had problem with the same thing. I tried to help her by finding a plumber to come out and fix it, I have left ****** multible messages about this with no response, my company is not responsible for this. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) *****, the owner, when he was in my yard, called a plumber. ******* with Lexington Plumbing. The plumber who he called (***** gave me his phone to talk with *******), so I hired him to come look at the leak. When the plumber came out, he said there was no way a riding lawn mower could do the damage and that there were heavy tire tracks. I am attaching the text I got from the plumber. He is willing to vouch for the damage. *******'s text: Then I said then why did you call me and then why did you dig it up and then why is your tracks over it if you didn't drive on it cuz you were the only one working there and then he had a long cause and then he said well we were off to the side I said yeah but you ran over to line the line ran that way and then it elbowed over and you ran over the elbow and then he denied that but how can you deny it why are you digging it up none of that makes any sense why did you call me why are you involved if you didn't do anything cuz you did it you know you did it and he got mad and hung up on me. I am still asking that we are reimbursed for the damage caused by the truck and trailer that was in the yard picking up the trash from their install of the screened in porch. Thank you, ****** ******* Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2021/12/15) */ I called and came to her house to help if my people had done this is would cover the repair, but both of my worked stated they didnt drive on the grass. I told her we didnt do this, and called a plumber to help her NOT BECAUSE I WAS ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. I have been a member of the BBB for years with anY A rating and now complaints. I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2021/12/27) */ Regina, Good Morning. I was on vacation last week and did not respond to Palmetto Enclosure's last response. I'd like to reopen the case and file my response. Thank you for your help in this matter. My response: Yes, ***** did come to my house and we both saw the tracks in my yard. It is not a coincidence. No one was on my property except Palmetto Enclosure picking up our yard trash (from Palmetto Enclosure's install of our screened in porch) on the same day that we had the broken pipe/water leak. It was leaking so much late in the day, that I had to go out and turn the water off. All I am asking is for his business to do the right thing. I am a business owner, and I stand behind the products I sell. If one of my employees does something wrong, I make it right. It's the fair thing to do and I ask for the refund on the repair. Thank you, ****** ******
