      ?I have been a member of Golds Gym in ********* for many years and a member of the U.S. military. Last October, my unit was activated for a six-month deployment outside the continental U.S. My credit card was compromised while I was deployed and my membership payments were denied without my knowledge. I did not have regular phone service or email and did not receive any notification that my account had not been paid. After returning to the U.S., I tried to settle my account with ********************** Gym, but was told that I could not do that because it had been turned over to collections . My only option was to start a new membership at a much higher rate. I do not feel that my membership should have been canceled, my account turned over to collections and being denied to activate my old membership that I had for many years. I have talked with a representative at Golds Gym with no results and have not even had the courtesy of a phone call from the owner. I even offered to provide a copy of my military orders to them, and I will be glad to do that if it is necessary to substantiate my claim. I would appreciate anything that you could do to help rectify this. I would like to get my old membership reinstated at the original rate and pay whatever amount is due to them during my absence.       I started a membership with gold gym. Months after I decided to cancel my membership and I called the gym they made the process to complicated to cancel they transferred me so many times and provided me with a link to cancel and I submitted in the form. I finally got to speak to someone and we walked me through to cancel the membership she confirmed and I was suppose to receive an email that I never did receive. Now a year after I receive a letter from collections for a larger amount that I did not understand because I had cancel my membership. I called the gym and the guy I spoke to stated they never received anything they were trying to contact me I never receive no email nothing.. I do not recommend this gym is horrible they don't want you to cancel your membership they make you think they did and then send you to collections. Please help me this is not fair.
