Innovations Painting Solutions LLC (IPS) is not Innovative. IPS is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, and they have a crew of another husband and wife, who were rarely supervised. The owner did not review the work of their hired staff. Their team lacks the skills to handle renovations of significant scale. This was a basic popcorn removal, although our living room ceiling is quite high, they assured us they would do their best. What we learned is both the the owner and his hired help do not know how to paint with a paint-sprayer, and the only Solution is to NEVER use this company. They were hired to remove popcorn from the ceiling, mud, prime and paint. They did remove the popcorn. They did mud some, and prime some, in no particular order. They used a sprayer and left significant drips in every room. So much so that they ruined the walls in our kitchen with drips and runs practically at every inch, this is not an exaggeration and we have video evidence. They didn't correct it with a brush, like a painter would, or a rag to wipe it down. They over-sprayed and got paint on the vinyl floor and shower. Every time we addressed issues with them it was an excuse that the room was too cold to paint. The house was never below 68. We were assured they would complete the job within 5-days and fix any drips. We pointed out the drip and spackling issues on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It just kept getting worse. Again, IPS assured us the owner would show up with his crew early Saturday morning. The husband and wife crew only showed up. We made it very clear only to address the paint drips, mud & sand where needed. Despite this instruction, the owner of the company told his employee to paint. As soon as we heard the sprayer go on, we told the employee to stop immediately. At that point, we recognized IPS was not going to do what they needed to do despite being paid 95% of the agreed upon estimate of the job. We paid them 5% up front to secure the date to begin, and another 90% for labor, and supplies, but withheld the final 5% payment. The one star rating is for what IPS did do right - they bought the right materials. They showed up the day they said they would start. They removed the popcorn ceiling material. They made sure they got paid according to the contract, with the last 30% being made before they actually completed the step of addressing known errors and unfinished areas. And even though IPS was let go, they stated we nullified the contract and informed us our numbers were blocked and not to retain them for future projects (we wouldn't wish that on anyone). They may claim we did not respond to 90% of their calls and texts, which is a complete fabrication. We have all of the texts, and cell phone records don't lie. We feel as though our house was vandalized. We told them to get their gear and get out. We didn't even have them clean up because we feared they would ruin something else. Our hope and prayer is that they will never destroy anyone else's home. Also, contact address for IPS is not accurate. We also wish we could include pictures to show we are not exaggerating the damage done. This will surely cost us several thousand to remedy the violations carried out in our home and delay other projects.
