I hired Dave’s plumbing to replace a leaking water main line in December 2022. They completed the replacement to my satisfaction, however, during digging up my yard, they cut through my irrigation lines in four places and didn’t repair the lines before filling dirt back in where the new water line was installed. I paid Dave’s $3300 to replace the water line and had to pay an additional $1250.00 to have the irrigation lines repaired by my irrigation company. I notified Dave’s and asked them if they would be willing to assist me with the additional cost but they did not reply to several messages I sent them. In my opinion, this is poor customer service to ignore my request. I am requesting BBB to assist me in getting some help to get money back from Dave’s for the additional cost to repair my irrigation lines that they damaged.Business response

Hi we have not received any calls to our office number or messages from this customer. That being said I was able to located the job and contract. In this instance the customer was unable to use the water to his home do to his main line freezing. the Scope of work was limited to only repairing the water main and did not include any testing or repairing of irrigation. Though it's a shame he had to pay for so many repairs it was clearly stated and explained that we would not be responsible for any damage do to the excavation required to make the critical repair to restore water to his residence. Furthermore this freeze happened during winter and likely caused other pipes to break. After reviewing the internal notes on this job it was offered to test sprinklers at an additional cost verbally and was denied.Customer response

******* *****i have sent texts to Mr. B**** and he did not respond. I would still like for him to assist with paying something towards my bill to correct the damages to the irrigation lines. Freezing did not cause the lines to break. It was cutting through the lines in four places which my landscaper will attest to.for me.

l understand your pain, however there is nothing we can do. It was explained in the contract that you signed, that states: we were not responsible for any damages caused by the tractor to install your main water line. Furthermore, test and repairs were offered for a price. However, it was noted that you were not worried about it at the time since it was winter. For that instance, you could have called us for the repairs and we may have been able to help with the price a little as an existing customer but that didn't happen. All of our phones are out of network, text messages do not go through our office. Our number is publicly listed and you never called. Our Voice over IP system was audited to make sure of it. Again I understand the pain of homeownership and needing extensive repairs doesn't seem fair, and wish we could do work for free but we can't. I will however add a 10% discount to your customer profile for any future Plumbing, Electrical, & HVAC repairs you may have.Customer response
