On December 13, 2023, I received a phone call from this business and the rep name, Letasha Davis, told me there was a balance of $3, 584.20 of a credit card debt with a bank name, Orchard. And she stated if they did not get a payment that day her collection company would have to move forward with legal actions that include garnishment from my bank, a lien on my vehicle, and more. She read over my personal information which was frightening, since I had no idea how they got it. I told this rep I opened no such account and the matter appears to be identity theft so I need proof of this matter so I can file charges to prosecute the people involved. She continued to say that it would be no problem to send to me that but she cannot send those documents over until they apply the payment. She also placed me on hold and came back to say she had good news to offer me a settlement amount of $998.00 plus a 3.00 fee making overall total $1001.00. Once paid she will send over those documents, which never happen. She processed that payment and sent me to my email address only a receipt of this payment taking place. I called back immediately to tell her I never got that requested proof of this matter occurring, no original documents were sent over, so she placed me on hold again and said that proof would be mailed to my address, which also never happened. While trying to resolve this matter with them, I contacted the Attorney Generals office, and my bank to report this matter as identity theft, fraud. I got a reply from both the Attorney Generals office and my bank told me this was a scam. I was supposed to be provided with proof this credit card account existed. They then requested I place a police report within my city and in SC. which I did. My bank said this company should reimburse me since they misrepresented the handling of my call and they never proved the matter involved me. I still have not been refunded, and I have received no such proof to use to prosecute.
