Fields was my insurance agency that I had my home and car insured with. They insured me with another company called Southern Fidelity. My house insurance was due on the 15th of July2022. On June 1st of 2022 I wrote Southern Fidelity a check for $1969.00. Southern Fidelity cashed my check on June 7th of 2022. Two days later I Rey's letter from them saying they were restructuring and I would recent refund check in 90 days. It is now November 21st. I have not received any of my money or any communications from them. I have contacted the office at my agency 9 times for help with no success. I would like my money and to have this issue resolved since I really don't have $1969.00 to just throughout. I would also like for this agency to help me with the process. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/29) */ The first check was mailed out back in September was never received due to an address change and mail not being forwarded. Since then a new check was cut and forwarded to the correct address and went out from the guaranteed fund department on Tuesdays 11-22-22 to the insureds correct and provided mailing address. We had a home insurance policy with Southern Fidelity lnsurance with Field insurance of Surside as the agent. This policy was cancelled July 15 2022. I asked when I would receive a refund Field insurance response was 45 to 60 days I find this answer most unsatisfactory, and request your intervention in this matter to expedite my refund. Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2022/09/13) */ All SFIC and Capitol refunds are being handled by the SC Guaranteed Fund. I have reached out to the SC Guaranteed Fund and were told that the The SC Guaranty Association received the data from the Receiver on 8/15/22 and processed/mailed the same day. The check was deposited on 8/19/22 and cleared on 8/22/22. Amount of the check was $1,707.00. As of today the refund has been issued and deposited by the insured. We were given a copy of the cleared check and I did verfiy the signature of the insured is listed.Initial Complaint

In September 2021 we took a flood insurance policy on our home on *** ********** **** ****** ****** **** XXXXX with fields insurance. They issued the policy with UPC insurance co. On the wrong home ( *** ****** ****** After receiving the policy in the mail I immediately noticed the mistake and called Phil Richardson of fields insurance and let him know. He said he would correct their mistake and issue a refund of $549. He said he canceled the policy. Well I still haven't been issued the refund $549. Been trying to talk to him on the phone and contacting by email with no luck. It's been going on over 7 months now it time for them step up and issue my refund. ThanksBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/11) */ We have been working diligently on trying to get this resolved with FEMA for too long. They are extremely short staffed as a lot of government agencies are nowadays and their workflow is backed up. Regardless, we have confirmation that they have sent the refund out on May 4th 2022. The insured should have those funds soon. Thanks and again our appologies for the delay in this. Thanks! Consumer Response /* (450, 12, 2022/05/21) */ ***Document Attached*** Yes I finally received my refund. After continuous phone calls and numerous emails. It only took them 8 months to solve the issue with no interest. ( unacceptable). Will not be renewing homeowners or auto policies with them.
