It has been such a privilege to work with this homowner. We spent a large portion of 2023 at their house remodeling the interior, adding on a garage extension, building out an enlarged, enclosed back porch, and creating a new laundry room. Acumen Builders tends to find the most reasonable, personable, and thankful clients, and this was no exception. We're very thankful for our clients.

It was a privilege to work with this client. Her eye for detail, quick decision making, and overall forethought made this project go smoothly. Many times, while contracting remodeling jobs, the end result is more the product of the homeowner and designer's creativity than the builder. We felt privileged to participated in this project, which already had such a high potential for success.

We can honestly say that the renovation of our guest bathroom was the easiest one that we have done over the years. We cannot say enough about the quality of the job, the attention to every detail and craftmanship from Josh and James and the professionalism that Jonathan showed us from start to finish. Acumen is without question the best general contractor and builder we have used in over 40 years or either doing renovations or building new homes. It simply does not get any better than this. Not only are Josh and Jonathan highly skilled in their profession, they bring a level of attention to detail and passion for their work that is frankly rarely seen. To say they have been a pleasure to work with would be a huge understatement. We were completely comfortable with them throughout the entire project. This was a major renovation of a large house, and as such required much major work, and a host of trades. Josh was superb not only in the work he and his crew performed, but also in his careful and uncompromising supervision of all the trades. I have implicit trust in Josh, Jonathan, and everyone involved in their firm. Not only would I use them in the future, we have already tapped them to help us do some additional renovations on our finished basement this coming spring. One aspect of their work is worth special highlighting: anytime I saw even the slightest problem, Josh would immediately jump on the problem and get it resolved. This is something that I very much appreciated. I would also highlight the superlative quality of their work -- I am a woodworker and handyman and have a good notion of what quality craftmanship looks like. And, Acumen has got it! I can unequivocally state that Acumen is a 5-star firm that I would highly, and without hesitation, recommend to anyone contemplating a big (or small) home project.

Acumen Builders can echo everything this client said about the pleasure we experienced working together on this project. This couple recently moved to the Upstate and wanted to customize their new house to match their lifestyle and personal style before calling South Carolina home. Acumen Builders works best in custom finishes and enjoys working with gracious and intelligent clients. The remodel took us 9 months total and, as with many of our projects, we began our relationship as contractors and ended as friends.

Jonathan and his team at Acumen Builders built several extra rooms for me. They also added a wrap-around porch with ramp access since I am blind and use a wheelchair to get around. Jonathan did several things to help me "visualize" my build even though I wasn't able to see it on paper. He made a prototype of the changes using Lego building blocks so I could use my hands to "visualize" what it looked like. He was kind, reasonable, and fair and his team was respectful and kept me laughing most of the time. I would recommend this company and use them again if needed. My quality of life has improved greatly with the upgrades and I'm able to take care of myself better than before.

Acumen Builders was given the opportunity to increase the quality of life for a person with limited vision and mobility. In addition to bringing her current residence up to code, we were able to provide this client with a Master Bedroom/Bathroom suite that met ADA standards. It was a priviliege to work with this client, who personally picked out the colors of the addition from the vivid memories of her childhood. Acumen is thankful for the review and the chance to change the world, one project at a time.

We used Acumen for a deck rebuild and were very happy with the results! Very fast and above expectations. We will absolutely use them again and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

This project utilized the Trex Enhance Composite Decking system. The structure of the deck was pressure treated wood while the decking and handrail system were composite. The homeowners were excellent about color selection, communication, and flexibility. Acumen was able to complete the project 2 weeks ahead of schedule with a beautifully enlarged deck that should be enjoyed for many years to come.

This was our first time to deal with a remodel project. We have several projects to complete, and the master bathroom remodel was the first to do. Our neighbors recommended Josh, who had completed their bathroom remodel a few years ago. We contacted Josh, who had merged with Jonathan to form Acumen Builders, LLC. The job was completed to our satisfaction, on budget, on time, and hassle free. Both Josh and Jonathan were professional, competent, dependable, detailed oriented, and men of integrity. Their team reflected them. We especially enjoyed getting to know Josh and Jonathan, and their Christain values. At the end of the project, we were told about their mission of contributing a percentage of their profits from each project to a charitable organization of each client's choosing. Our choice was ******* *****. This was an unexpected bonus, which reflected their mission of "changing the world one project at a time." We will use Acumen Builders for other projects, and we highly recommend this company to clients who want quality work completed by a quality team.

I often feel that Acumen Builders connects with some of the greatest people in the Upstate. This project was a Master Bathroom update that involved demo, a new shower, new floor tile, misc. repairs and paint. As is our custom, we used floor protector to create a safe and clean exit for the demo work, as well as plastic zip barriers for dust containment. Our client strategy is both professional and relational so we get to enjoy our time with the homeowners for whom we work. We are so thankful for the positive review and look forward to serving this client again in the future.

We hired Acumen to add on an addition to the back of our garage. And, to replace all the rotting wood on our front porch. They completely rebuilt the front porch. It looks beautiful! The garage add on is great too! The whole Acumen team does exceptional work. Each member is respectful and professional. There are some really great people in the Upstate and we feel privileged to live and work here. This client was so pleasant to work with. She had a plan, communicated well, was flexible on timing and finish, and was available for questions and details when we needed them. We would love to work with client's like this all year long. We added a 3rd bay to her garage, which involved weaving in shingles, matching paint, pouring a new concrete pad, matching siding, gutters, doors, electrical, etc. The finished product was exactly what the client envisioned and we were proud to complete that job for her. Remodeling is easy when we're working for great people!

We hired Acumen to add a master suite onto the end of our home. Not only did they deliver a final product which exceeded our expectations, they did so with a great attitude and a willingness to listen to our questions or concerns along the way. When unexpected challenges arose, they handled them professionally with patience, and without sacrificing the quality and attention to detail they're known for. He and his wife came to us with a beautiful plan, modern style ideas, ********* pictures, and a dream of creating a Master Bedroom Suite with a bathroom, closet, and private office, and expanding their square footage by 400+sqft. Since Acumen provided the architectural drawings for this addition, we had the privilege of sitting in the client’s kitchen and designing their future space together. This was a moment where an intelligent client with well thought through plans and specific finish desires met with a company who listened, brought our own expertise and experience, and exceeded their expectations. This is how construction should be.

Over the last two years, Acumen builders have renovated my 35 year old home. Josh, Jonathon and Aaron have essentially lived at my home. I can not say enough positive things about them and their team. Just a few thoughts: Everyone single person that worked with or for Acumen builders was courteous, kind, on time, and excessively clean (ie cleaned up after they were done even when they were returning early the next day to work on the same job). Their thoroughness and attention to detail was was a breath of fresh air. They are used to working with older homes and did a great job with suggestions that for the aRchitecture and period of my home. Josh handled the supply chain issues caused by the pandemic with swift effectiveness as not to cause really any slow down in my projects. The end product is amazing and my home is a show piece! I would recommend Acumen builders without reservation!
