I have purchased many orders of vanilla beans from Vanilla Bean Kings. The beans I have purchased are Madagascar, Tahitian, Ugandan, Tanzanian, Mexican and Sumatra. All beans arrived quickly and were plump, full of caviar and beautiful smelling even still unopened from the packaging. I have made quite a number of 8 oz and 4 oz bottles of vanilla extracts. Last Christmas I made cookies from my 1 + years extracts of Madagascar and Tahitian. They were a huge hit and everyone loved them. I believe if you are going to make cookies, they should be of the best quality ingredients. They smelled wonderful and tasted even better! The customer service is amazing and quick to respond and ship. I have no complaints. I am very satisified with the quality of these beans. Mere F.

I placed two orders totaling 12 ounces of vanilla beans from Vanilla Bean Kings recently, some from the co-op sale and a couple other varieties: 4 oz Grade A Madagascar - shorted 0.25 oz 2 oz Grade A Madagascar - shorted 0.25 oz 2 oz Grade A Comoros - accurate 2 oz Grade A Comoros - shorted 0.25 oz 1 oz Grade A Tahitian (from Indonesia) - accurate 1 oz Grade A Mexican - "best by January 2024" - accurate Mexican beans: Received 12/2023. Emailed them about best by date and was told by Taylor that this was a misprint and that "most people use them right away anyway." Emailed them about the shortages of the Madagascar beans- they said my scale was probably off. Though some packages weighed okay for me. They sent 10 supposed Grade A Madagascar beans instead of going by weight this time. Replacement beans were 1 1/2 inches shorter than the first order. Final 2 oz package of Grade A Comoros beans were also 0.25 oz short AND half the beans were plump and long, and the other half were shorter, skinny, dried out. I took a picture and emailed them. They didn't respond to ME in my final email, but they accidentally replied to me saying to "find her and ban her from the group." That means the Facebook group called Baking & Extract Making with Vanilla Bean Kings. I sent pictures of my concerns to them so they know they are legitimate. Main issues were with the vanilla beans that were in the co-op sale orders- being shorted 0.25 each batch ordered adds up. This company should not put a 2 ounce minimum, charge for the 2 ounces, but only deliver 1.75 ounces, or include half good Grade A beans and half dry skinny beans in one Grade A package. Someone has already paid for those beans they resell to someone else. I still used the beans I purchased, they seem okay, though inconsistent in quality, and I spent enough money on them. But the customer service is poor and people should be aware of this in case they have any issues.

We did indeed speak on the phone and I informed Lisa that there appeared to be a misprint with our best by date, as one of our employees accidentally put this year instead of the 2 year shelf life date. I also explained to her out our scale are lab grade analytical scales, and that the scale she is using looks to be about 30 years old, probably not calibrated, and not accurate enough to properly measure this small of an amount of product. In good faith, we sent her more beans to be sure we have a happy customer and as a token of our apology about the best by date misprint. Lisa then reached out again saying, once again, that she was shorted because her beans were smaller in size. Well vanilla beans are an agricultural product so yes, their sizes will vary and we have a size range posted on the product details page. This factor does not matter, because her order was by weight and 10 beans were FAR more than the .25 ounces she claimed she was shorted. Overall, I tried explaining if her scales are consistently coming up short 1/4 of an ounce, it is highly probable her scale is the issue. We tried everything we could to resolve her issues and she received much more than she actually paid for. I'm confident how our customer service representative handled the situation and feel the true issue lies with the customers faulty equipment.
