            we live in Minnesota but have family in Plankinton, SD and love to travel out there so i made reservation to stay at the Rodeway in on March 14th,2024 but had to cancel do to some medical issues a death of a friend and the fact that we now have 3 aging adults that require us to stay home this mothers day but to get back out there as soon as thing settle here. i tried to cancel my reservation on April 15th, I was told i had to show proof of the death and other records. i have attached all my emails from them, i have also tried to call support but i can never get a person. we have family that own a business in Plankinton, SD. so we will back.

            I chose to book a room at this place because the reviews I saw were pretty decent. Upon arrival, I discovered the place was a filthy mess. I didn’t even end up staying the night because it was so dirty and there was a random guy lurking in the parking lot outside the window of the room I was assigned. I booked a non-smoking room and it reeked of cigarettes and urine. There was a large amount of flies in my room and when I brought it to the attention of management, they said “all of the room have a lot of flies.” There were makeup stains on the bathroom towels and overall it was just a filthy place in general. The inn initially agreed to refund my money since I didn't feel comfortable staying in a dirty room with a random guy sitting in his car outside my window, but a few days later I was informed that they’d changed their minds. This is an extremely disgusting and shady place to stay, and I really am curious why they feel like having flies in all of the rooms is not an issue.
