      Hello, I feel the business practices of action mechanical is deceiving and unethical. When I scheduled services for a heating issue I was told on the phone I would be charged for the 1st hour and every hour after would be prorated, and that was it. When the workers showed up on the 20th of December the 2 worker had no idea how to assess the problem and spent an hour reading my manual just to tell me there is nothing they can do. I asked them to also look at my humidifier. again they read the manual and told me the part it is missing they have at their warehouse and would go get it. Fine, 30 minutes later the worker called me to tell me they don't have the parts and could charge me $***** for a new humidifier. Didn't understand that considering they call the warehouse before they left to confirm they have the parts. My guess is they were being deceptive and tried to get more money from me. Well when I received the final bill I was charged for 2 1/2 hours when they did nothing. I was charged for the 30 minutes it took them to get there and also for mileage, this to me is double dipping, I pay for travel and gas. Not right considering I was only told I would pay for the hourly rate. Considering they really did nothing but I had to pay $****** so they could read my manual, travel to and from my location and mileage, completely unreasonable. I would see paying for a hour of their time at $** but this is not right. I did send a complaint to their business but I was told there is nothing they can do just pay the bill.       I had used this business for 3-4 years with no problems. They were timely, did good work, and seemed fair in pricing. However, in 2023 I needed a new kitchen faucet and shower hardware. I called, got a bid (not a quote which came back to bite me later), and arranged for the work to be done the end of February. I was told I had to order from a certain business and buy a certain brand if I wanted a warranty. I did so though the prices seemed a bit high. The day of the job, the plumber showed up only to find I had purchased the wrong hardware given my kitchen sink. The weather wasn't good, but after an hour or so, he returned with a different faucet that fit my sink. Okay. I then helped him line up the faucet hardware to the water lines and the cap in the open sinkhole. I also helped by emptying the linen closet and then removing the back panel for faucet access in the bath. I was raised to help when I could, and since he came alone, I figured helping where I could would save both time and money. The job was done, all worked fine, and I waited for the bill, thinking it would be less than the original bid because the plumber was here less than the estimated time. When the bill came, it had the original price with original hours. When I called to ask why I had been charged the original bid when I had helped and the actual hours here had been less by 2.5 to 3 hours, I was informed that the bid was the bid and no reduction would be forthcoming. The job was bid at approx. $1400 when--with the fewer hours--it should have come in around $1050 to $1150. Didn't seem honest when I had expected the company to be fair and acknowledge my input and less actual labor on the job. I also should have asked the company and been clear in what would happen if the job took less labor or cost less than the bid, but I trusted them. Maybe others have done better with this company, but I will not use them again.
