I am Power of Attorney for my mother. On March 8, 2024, I purchased a columbarium niche for my mother. Since this time I have waiting to receive a copy of the deed/contract. I have tried working with funeral director (where I have purchased all services relating to my mother's final arrangements) to obtain a copy of the contract; called the cemetery and spoke to **** who informed he would place the documentation in the mail over the weekend. I never received any information through the mail. In addition, I have more than one voice-mail message requesting call back. I have gone to the cemetery office to see if I could pickup paperwork; office was closed. On May 28, 2024, I sent letter (certified return receipt) to cemetery. With the letter I included a self addressed stamped envelope in the hope this would prompt the mailing of information to me. I live five hours away from Sioux Falls so I cannot simply drop by hoping the office is open. To resolve this complaint I am requesting a copy of the contract/deed be provided to me.Initial Complaint

This is my second complaint I have filed against Mt Pleasant Cemetery. I paid my completed balance as of March 3rd, 2023. I have been asking since then to get a completed contract for my records. Matt **** has been my only point of contact, and I can't get anyone else to help me. He says he has mailed my contract, but I have not received anything. I have asked for my contract to be shipped with priority tracking since April 11th. As of May 16th, he says he will get it sent and that it 'slipped his mind' since April. I have still not received my contract. I have a total of 14 emails since asking for my contract with no resolution.Business response

We have found the contract for open / close payments signed by the party and our former executive director. Unfortunately we can not find the signed contract for the lot. We will be happy to send a dead but need information from the buyer. Does she have a copy, or location info so we can fill out and notarized a deed with lot info.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I visited the establishment in October 2021 and selected my plot. The previous manager wrote my selection down on the cemetery plot map. I was never asked to sign anything. I wish the establishment would have been honest with me as to why they couldn't send my contract for the last several months. I live 6 hours away and it is very inconvenient for me to make another trip to do something I had previously thought was taken care of.Please let me know what I need to do to move forward.

I have attempted to retrieve my remaining balance for my burial plot since the beginning of the year since I have not received a statement since December 2021. I have not received a statement or a resolution after calling the business 5 times and attempting to reach out via email. I just need my remaining balance to pay for my burial plot, and I am worried they are charging me interest for non-payment.Business response
