On XX-XX-XXXX an installer representing American Door installed a wrought iron door (with side lights) at my front door. It was not installed properly at the top of the door. At the top of the door breaks in the metal were misaligned on both sides, shoddy looking along with gaps filled in with white putty even though the metal is black. It was terrible condition when installer told me he was finished. I showed him the issue and he said he couldn't do anything about that. I said that I would not pay if he did not attempt to correct the issues. I told him I would call the sales rep, ***. He was irate and said he did not want to deal with ***. I said "then fix it". He then made it better, but still not right. I went ahead and paid the balance of $1,031.00. $200 was paid before start of job on 10-26-2022. Within a day or two I sent pictures to ***, the sales rep. He called me and said he would sent out ****, the owner. A few days later, **** came out to evaluate the problem. He said that he would have to remove some pieces and re-do it all together. He did not say when. I left a voice mail message at the office on 2/15/2022 to find out ****'s plan to do the correction. I have heard nothing as of today, 2/17/2022. I paid them for a quality job. I just want them to correct the inferior work. It should not be that much work to make the adjustments.Business response

She was happy when I finished. **** *******. Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/03/24) */ ****** ******* Wed, Mar 23, 10:42 PM (11 hours ago) to Better Dear BBB, I did not hear anything at all from the company in question until Tuesday, 3/22/2022 when the owner called and apologized saying he forgot about me, that the previous worker was no longer with his company and that he would be by my place the next day, Wednesday, 3/23 to make the necessary adjustments. He did show up shortly before noon today, 3/23, and proceeded to rectify the mess made by his former employee. He tore down the misaligned sections and re-did them and replaced to white sealant with matching black sealant. It took him close to 2 hours to finish. Although I am left with five or six nail holes in the top wood frame above the door where the first guy misplaced the initial sections of the wrought iron door. But the door is now properly aligned and the correct sealant used. So, I am satisfied with the alignment now. Overall, he did a good job of correcting the other guy's mess. Consider this a closed case. Thank you very much for your assistance.
