      I paid this business on January 10, 2022 $582.90 to ship an antique cabinet for me, after seeing on their website that "The staff at The Mail Box Store Chattanooga are expertly trained in all aspects of packaging, and we specialize in packing and shipping antique items." I informed the business that this item was at least worth $1000 in declared value. I received the cabinet from UPS on January 18, 2022, and discovered that it was irreparably damaged, cracked all over. The business has provided me no refund to date, despite my regular contacts with them. I have received a refund of my shipping charges of $582.90 through my credit card company after I filed a dispute with my credit card company, but I have received no compensation whatsoever for the destroyed furniture. The business has stopped responding to my requests for status updates about the insurance claim they say they have filed for the destroyed furniture.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/16) */ I took care of this customer very well from day one. I personally went to get her table and got it safely here. Then i sent her pictures of cabinet, we packed it well and sent her pictures again before finalizing the shipment. Her Declared value is $1000. While i was working with the insurance company she was calling me everyday and i was telling her that insurance company is working on it it takes time, because they have to investigate the claim. I checked claim status everyday and i told her what i saw and heard from insurance company. But she wanted her money right away and she wanted to get more than she claimed. I was and am willing to help help her out as much as i can to get her money. She went out and got her shipping cost back through credit card company without my knowledge and i did not say anything because i was going to give her that money back anyway. Before i short everything out with UPS and Insurance company she stared writing bad reviews and try to black mail me by saying "Refund my full purchase price of the item ($764.75) by the end of the day tomorrow and we'll call it a day-I'll remove my reviews assuming the platforms allow me to do so, or else i'll update to say that i received a full refund of my cost of purchase." These are her words. I just heard from Insurance company yesterday that they are finalizing claim by end of this week, they also told me that she was bothering them as well everyday and saying bad things even though she is not their customer. Again as soon as i get money from insurance company i will take care of her and end this issue. I am sorry that her cabinet got broken during the transit, it went out safely from here, but things happened in shipping. We ship things in The United States and International and so far we never had issue. This is the first issue i am dealing in this business at my location. The furniture item was insured for $1000, as shown on my receipt. While it is helpful that the business is agreeing to compensate me for $764.75, my purchase price, that is less than the insured value and fair market value. I request $1000 in compensation for the destroyed furniture. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/02/17) */ Insurance company is giving me $900, but i will write a check of $1000. end this issue with this customer. The reason i said $764.75 was because that's what she asked for it in her previous email with blackmailing. This person was my worst customer in my 27 years of business. so in short i will write her a $1000 check as soon as i get money from insurance company and i told her that it will be end of next week.
