      This company is so unprofessional. My bill was behind one month. I called on Wednesday and couldn’t speak to a real person to explain that I will pay this bill in full on Friday. I call several time on Wednesday, Thursday. They disconnected my gas on Thursday morning. Friday morning I payed in full. Call to schedule my appointment to re connect service. Could not speak to a real person. I call several time. Saturday morning finally spoke to an agent who explained that he was unable to help me at all and that I need to call Monday morning. They charged me $65 to reconnect and I have been without gas: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and will have to see if anybody willing to answer the phone on Monday. Temperatures are dropping and the home is getting cold. This company is abusive. I payed $232.00 including reconnect fees. This should be ilegal.

      How can this be legal? Looked at my bill and I travel for work. Live in the same house for 20years noted my bill and the usage is off. There was usage when I’m not even home and have not been for months. Had questions and CANNOT get a hold of ANYONE. It’s like they’re stating there is usage on the months I’m gone. They don’t know when I’m home or not looks fraudulent. How can it be legal not be able to talk to anyone. I’ve tried countless times. Google all sorts of places Southern Company who owns Chattanooga Gas but no way to get a hold of anyone…AGAIN how is this legal? I looked at their website a person went to their place of business and they had a sign on front door “office closed”. So they obviously are doing things that are unethical and other people are having issues as well. This has to be looked into.

      Good Morning, Ms. ***** contacted our Customer Care Center on September 16, 2022, and spoke with one of our Customer Service Representatives. Our Customer Service Representative addressed all of Ms. ***** concerns; reviewed Ms. ***** billing and consumption history, as well as explained the rates and customer charges.

      In July of 2021 my mother passed away. I live out of state and was out for approx a week to wrap up all of her affairs. I called in to Chattanooga gas to report a gas leak I discovered while there. At that time I explained my mother had passed and since there was a gas leak, the service man actually told me he requested it be turned off. I misunderstood and thought the service had been turned off and had no idea that was not the case until I received some forwarded mail a few weeks ago and the bill was $131.20. When I called in, the company informed me it had not been turned off, that I had needed to call in again after the gas leak and formally turn it off. I had misunderstood the serviceman. They are unwilling to work with me at all on the amount of the bill and refuse to meet me somewhere in the middle. The original bill owed in July 2021 I'm told was $17.45. That was at the time of my mothers death. The next month ( August 2021)they billed her account, ( which I had thought had been turned off), $16.70. How in the world can her account be charged $16.70 when no one was using the gas, and my mothers last amount owed for the previous month was $17.45? That seems fishy. I have tried to negotiate and this company is completely unwilling to make any adjustments given the situation, and taking into account that I am trying to resolve this bill without them hunting me down, I am the one calling in to resolve this bill. I think this seems like a greatly inflated bill and feel there is some fraud going on.

      This company doesn't even rate one star. A train wreck. I have submitted "start service" requests twice, several days in advance and all I get is "we received your request". Today I was on phone hold for over 30 minutes simply trying to transfer and start new service in my name for a home I bought today. Impossible to communicate with these people. This company is totally dysfunctional. If you buy a home in this area don't expect any good gas service from this outfit. I have given up. When I arrive at my new house I'll have cold water. Don't bother trying to communicate with Chattanooga Gas - it won't work. I'll build a fire in my back yard to heat my water. And guess what? They now have all my personal info. Very mad.
