I contacted ***** (********* is parent company) on 6/13/2024 to set up an appointment for ice maker repair on my Sub Zero refrigerator. The woman I spoke to said the ice maker was covered under my plan but turns out it wasn't. They assigned a repair company to come to my home which I found out later did not work on Sub Zeros and had informed ********* of that. I had to call ********* to tell them this and have them send another company. They said they had assigned ********* ******. ********* ****** (****) came on 6/28/2024 and diagnosed that I needed a new icemaker and new lines. This would cost $1000 and he wanted payment at that time. I refused. Next was ******** from ********* ****** coming on 7/1/2024. ******** looked at the ice maker and within 30 seconds said I also had a leak and he would fix that for an extra $450. I said I would get another estimate and he backed down saying he would do it for the original estimate of $1000 and he could get the rest from *********. I let him do the job because ***** had sent him and I thought they were a reputable company and wouldn't send someone who couldn't do the job. ******** said he replaced the ice maker, lines, and fixed the leak but the ice maker never worked. I have called or texted him numerous times and he always says he is going to take care of it but does nothing. I complained to ********* and they were just focused on the charge, saying they weren't liable because the ice maker wasn't covered under my plan. I believe they should be liable for repair companies they use. This one is fraudulent and I think they should be responsible for that. I had a repair company I would have never chosen on my own but accepted them because ***** (*********) sent them.
