Starting the first part of January 2024, *** Wilkes and his company were hired to perform a $53k remodel job of my kitchen and living room area. It was initially agreed that we would pay 1/2 up front, and the balance when the job was finished. *** advised us that it would take approximately 3 weeks to complete. Around the second week of February almost 5 weeks into the job *** asked for an additional $10k to cover costs he incurred to this point. I reminded him that wasn't our original agreement, but I was out of town and trusted that the work was being done properly at this point, so I paid the additional money. I returned home approximately 1 week later for a short break and noticed several issues with the remodel. Ceiling beams were mounted incorrectly, I had an unpatched hole in my floor, there were various pieces of molding and cabinets installed incorrectly, and the shelving in my pantry wasn't being done at all like discussed. I telephoned *** immediately to inform him if the issues, and I asked him who the project manager was that was actively managing my job to insure that it was being done to standard as we had discussed. *** advised me that he himself and his partner ***** were, but yet at this point neither of them had been to my house in weeks. *** is actually living in *******, and to this date March 26, 2024, he still hasn't been back to my house to see the work. ***'s partner ***** then came to my house on 2/19/24 and I pointed out various concerns to him, He apologized and stated that it would all be addressed. He also stated that he would be the one now managing my remodel.On March 14, 2024 I returned home and again noted various significant issues. I observed an unpatched portion of the ceiling, a broken unlevel cabinet and countertop, a light fixture hanging by the electrical wires that was taped to the ceiling, hole in my floor, various molding issues. This was 10 weeks into the remodel. *** now demands final payment or threatens a home lien
