I closed on a new construction home in 12/2018. On 12/2/2020 my garage door cracked in two places at the top panel and would not operate. I called the Builder who told me to contact ********* Door Company. I talked to Owner, *** ********* who indicated a Rep would come out the next morning. The Rep (******) informed me that the garage door was never installed correctly and they would try to brace the top panel with steel brackets. I paid $*** for this fix. On 1/4/21 I texted photos of the garage door to *** ********* indicating the brackets were not holding up and I was worried but I never heard back. On 11/20/2021, sure enough the brackets broke and this time the two top glass panels broke as well. I informed *** via text & phone call of the situation and another Rep (**) came out that same day and added new steel brackets. I was told by the Rep that they would get back with me on the cost of replacing the top panel. On 12/13/21, I texted *** asking about a new panel replacement since I had to cover the broken panels with garbage bags. He texted back that "yes, that looks bad but everything was on back order". He said he would check on them when he got back to the office in a couple hours. On 2/16/22, I texted *** again and he said that "they are still waiting for many products". On 3/17/22 he texted back that "4-6 months is now the norm to get supplies". I texted *** again on 5/13/22 on status and he said "he would check on this first thing in the morning". On 5/17/22 I reached out again and NO response still. On 6/13/22, I had another Garage Door company come out and they confirmed that the door was never put in correctly. They gave me a quote of $**** to replace the door with proper lift and support. I believe I should receive a credit and/or discount from ********* for a new garage door replacement since the original door was never installed correctly and broke after 2 years.
