      My son purchased a car from Easy Auto this past summer. Due to current circumstances he is unable to make the payments so they are after the co-signer for the money, which is understandable. The co-signor's plan was to refinance the car with her credit union where she is in good standing. What we found out was Easy Auto overcharged these young, inexperienced buyers so much so that likely no bank will be able to refinance the loan. The interest rate is astronomical, due to a poor credit rating, but the car itself was way overpriced. Easy Auto claims they give people second chances. Really, they just dig a big hole for people who don't know any better and/or are desperate for a reliable source of transportation to maintain employment, which is such a shame. We tried talking with the business to come to some sort of resolution and they have not been helpful. Instead of compromise they immediately jump to talk of repossession and wage garnishment.

      Just to clarify, the cosigner on ****** auto loan was ******** ******* (his ex-girlfriend).  She told me she would also file a complaint about the situation.

      I have attached the written and signed permission from **** for me to file the complaint on his behalf.  I have also attached a pricing document we received from the lender when we went with Ms.******* to her credit union to try to turn the car over to her.  It illustrates the value of the car.  The loan amount through Easy Auto was over $20,000 approximately six months ago; the lender also suggested they were significantly overcharged.

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond. We have been in business since 1991 and have seen thousands of success stories of customers with no credit or poor credit who obtained reliable transportation through our financing programs.  We report to the major credit bureaus and many of our customers build up their credit score and within a short period of time qualify to purchase a new vehicle at a new car dealership, or purchase a first home, etc.
      We compete for customers daily with many new and used car dealerships in the Chattanooga area; and most every customer does price shopping on the internet and in person. If our car pricing was not reasonably competitive with the other dealers, we would be unable to sell any cars.
      We have found most online price guides compile an average price of many vehicles in various markets and in all sorts of conditions (including body damage, paint issues, etc.), so they generally aren’t very reliable on establishing values for our cars. We try to only buy top quality cars that we believe (with proper maintenance) will run well through the term of our 4+ year installment sales contracts. We also spend a significant amount of money on reconditioning each car for resale, which is not considered in the online price guides. We provide free ********* and ****** reports and allow our customers a 7 day no-hassle Return Policy with 100% of their money back. We also allow our customers to take our car to their mechanic before they purchase it, and we will pay for the inspection.
      We are sorry this customer became unable to make their payments.  We discussed this matter with the customer and were able to work out a mutually agreeable solution.

      The 2nd day I took back the vehicle that I bought from ez auto, I mentioned that there was a issue with it because the check engine light came on.. I was told to go and get a estimate from a mechanic so I did I emailed it to the women who took care of all the paper work, her name was ***, and over a dozen of times she claimed that she didn’t get it so I physically went and handed her a copy and then she said after receiving it she couldn’t find it, this went on for 3 mths when the warranty expired… then I called to speak to the manager and each time they said that he wasn’t in so I drove there and talked to the person I bought the vehicle from and he said there was not thing wrong with it, but yet the check engine light was on… I didn’t want to fight with them but now the vehicle is broke down and it’s at a service company. I called them and said it should have been fixed when I took the vehicle to them, and now it’s broke down.. I own 3 more years on the vehicle and I want it fixed.. we came to a agreement with the estimate that I would pay for it to get fixed and now they only wants to fix one thing instead of all of it when the manager got the estimate saying what needed to be fixed but that was not the agreement. He said he would fix what the estimate said, that was the agreement, so now fixing just the one part is not going to help any.. I want it fixed like the agreement is.

      This customer did buy a car from us in August 2022, and we are sorry she had mechanical issues. We do our best to only sell quality cars, however, used vehicles are susceptible to mechanical failures. In addition to including a limited warranty, we now offer extended service programs at all our locations, so this should give customers a peace of mind.  After speaking with this customer, we were able to come to a mutually agreeable solution and we understand the customer is satisfied with the resolution.

      I am rejecting this response because: I had to be ok with this but they could have offered me another vehicle that was in the same price range and apply the payments that were to the other vehicle to a different one, or even return enough that I could have put to another vehicle somewhere else, but i only ended up with 988.83 and loss of something I can drive, but now I’m stuck with out a vehicle and still trying to figure out how to get to appointments that I need to get to, they should have came up with other options to help out… but I guess it is what it is and I am still not happy about this situation and won’t be.. they have put me in a bind, once again. They need to make sure that whatever vehicles they sell had a FULL INSPECTION on them before selling!!!

      I bought this truck 6 months ago from Easy Auto and it has been in the shop 3 times already, and about to have to go again. I’ve only driven the truck 3500 miles or less and am having all these problems continually. I’m already over paying for this vehicle, it could at least run better. I’m tired of sinking money into it on top of my monthly payments. I understand going through Easy Auto you tend to get a high interest rate, but I also expect a dependable running vehicle that I shouldn’t have to pay to get fixed repeatedly.

      I purchased a Chevy Equinox in March of 2021 from Easy Auto in Dalton, GA. The day I purchased it, when I test-drove, I noticed that the car would shake hard and made a knocking sound. I told Easy Auto and was told it was normal. After I left the lot, I took it for new brakes then I took it home and had it for a few months but the noise was getting louder, shaking getting worse, and idling was off and made me worry. At the end of summer, I had to go over railroad tracks and when I did, the noise become extremely loud, I could smell the exhaust, and the transmission was not pulling. The car became difficult to drive and so I managed to get home and I had to have it towed to Taylor's Tire. They told me I had a faulty O2 sensor and had plugged it but my car ended up shaking harder than before and made me very nervous to drive. The idling began dropping and spiking and hard shaking would start everytime when I would stop when I was in gear. Eventually in May of 2022, on my way home from work, my car did die in the middle of the street and would not start even after my wife and I tried boosting it off. I had to have Elite Wrecker Service tow it to Elite Auto Repair. It stayed there for 2 days before I got any calls. When Brian did call me he told me that the timing chain had snapped and had looked like it was on the verge of snapping for a long time. It took several weeks to have this fixed and I let Easy Auto know about this and asked for financing help. The day that I got the car back, it died on me twice in a parking lot, and once on my way home so I took the car back for the day to have it fixed. When I got it back, everything went downhill and the whole car seemed to be falling apart, dying every time I would drive. Brian ended up putting an entire new fuel system in, spark plugs, throttle body, and checked his code and said everything was fine but it is still unsafe to drive. Easy Auto is refusing to take the car back and the bank is expecting me to still pay.

      This customer did buy from us in March 2021.  We send all vehicles through a vigorous inspection program and only sell vehicles that can pass our inspection.  We wish that our customers never had mechanical issues, but it does happen to used cars occasionally.  We were able to discuss this situation and were able to get this matter resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.

      I bought a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva sport from easy auto in Dalton and didn't have the car a year and the motor went out they replaced it and 4 months later the motor has went out again and can't get a straight answer from them or franks auto and repair they keep changing their stories and I'm about to lose my job because of it

      First, we are sorry the customer’s car had mechanical problems.  We do a full pre-sale inspection and really do our best to get rid of any vehicles that will cause our customers problems. We want our customers to have reliable transportation. Unfortunately, with used cars, you can’t catch every problem ahead of time. Once we were made aware of the situation, we contacted the customer to go over various options and we were able to come up with a solution that we understand the customer is now satisfied with.

      I go to buy a car from easy auto and the advertised down payment was $99, yet when they call me they say it's going to be 500 saying the 99 is depending on certain conditions. Well it doesnt say that anywhere on their website or any advertisements. So they are falsely advertising.

Our website does state on each vehicle page that the down payment shown is "for qualified buyers".  We sell a lot of vehicles for $99 down, but it is based on the finance company's qualification criteria.  We wish this customer well in the car buying process.

      I purchased a car from them in April. 3 days later it started messing up. I tries to return it but was told I could not return it, however they would have it fixed (the passenger side motor mount was bad). That was repaired. Less than a week later it started making a very loud noise when I started it, again I called and was told they would fix it (it needed a new muffler). Forward about a month and the transmission started acting up, I called once again and was told that they have spent enough money on my car. So when warm weather came and the a/c needed to be ran, it is not even cold and the car run horrible and shakes when the a/c is on. I believe they knew the car was a a piece of junk when they sold it to me and refused to let me bring it back. The salesman was singing it praises when he sold it to me only to get it off the lot. I want my car fixed or traded but can not get a resolution. Please help me.
