My 02 Trailblazer was towed in as the shifter was locked & would not start. I explained to them (*****) the issues. On Youtube, SEVERAL, simple, QUICK-FIX solutions => Dorman part 14073; ***** argued he didn't use Youtube to help. Per the Invoice RO # 132132. **** ***, **, owner, whom I spoke with, allegedly used the LEVEL 2 DIAGNOSIS, Multi-system OBD-2 Scanner I was charged Level 2 – Multi-system OBD-2 Scanner, which Can read and clear codes from Engine, Transmission, ABS, and Airbag. Depending on the scanner, it may be able to read and clear codes from other modules such as climate control, suspension, charging system, etc. IRRELEVANT to issue NOTE: NOTHING stated above about a "gear shifter selection bushing"; a plastic bushing as part of the shifting linkage that had fractured & fallen apart due to age. BBB 1: ** claims use of - the Level 2 charging $144.32; a fradulent claim of using OBD-2Scanner; irrelevant to the Youtube QUICK FIX solutions: No more than 1/2 hour should have been charged (use common sense. CONCLUSION 1: T. Owner needs to refund my $ 144.32, as he did NOT use that electronics tool & his claim to have used it is obviously of a fradulent nature. I ask that ** do a convincing writeup that convinces the BBB & it convinces me too, plus every other reader of this valid BBB Complaint.. BBB 2: Complained to ** about the ROE Fees: shop supplies, etc of $ 18.14 a ~ 16% mark up for no apparent cause; none of the issues listed were related to my specific vehicle. I spoke with him by phone on 5/23/2023, and he argued that the list was to cover various & sundry things not directly related to work done on my car,. THEREFORE, I do NOT owe for R O FEES of $ 18.14; I ask for a FULL refund of $18.14. BBB 3: I spoke w/** on 5/22/2023, he drove my veh to me (apparent retaliation; the RR tire low at 18 psi; others @ 31.5 - 32 psi. apology requested). BBB 4: bushing cost too high-refund $20 +. Walmart $9.73; Dorman 14073

      Business response

      05/25/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.  Please see the attached copy of invoice #132133 for Mr. ******** 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

      1)  We charge a diagnostic fee of 1 labor hour ($131.50 + tax)) to bring the vehicle into the shop and correctly diagnose the cause and nature of the vehicle's problem.  This is not limited to electronics.  It includes mechanical diagnostic work as well.  This is not only usual and customary in this business but it is a necessary step in the repair process.

      2)  We charged Mr. ******** 1 / 2 labor hour to install the faulty shifter cable bushing ($66.75 + tax).

      3)  We charged Mr. ******** $35.58 + tax for the shifter bushing.  Our mark up is based upon what it costs to do business and make a profit such that we can continue to do business and offer our customers and exceptional warranty.  We do not base our pricing on what someone can buy the part for online through Wal-Mart.

      4)  Shop supplies are charged on every ticket.  This too is usual and customary in this business.  The fee charged is calculated on 7% of the ticket and capped to not exceed $39.00.  Shop supplies are, in fact, a cost to run and maintain the shop, it's technicians and it's equipment.

      5)  We absolutely did not remove air from one of his tires.  However, we should have found the low tire and inspected it.

      6)  We have an excellent reputation, an excellent BBB rating and an excellent online review score.  Further, we offer the very best warranty in the business:  3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever benefits the customer more.

It is our intention to comply with BBB standards and to maintain our A+ rating.  Therefore, if the BBB determines that any of the above are not usual and customary and/or not in keeping with good business practices, I am prepared to abide by whatever the BBB recommends up to and including a full refund to the customer.  I look forward to your reply.

I am rejecting this response: I am not satisfied and I would like to have this evidence posted as my response, please, so that everyone who reads this knows the FACTS about CBA on Houston Levee; didn't realize  how justified I am to present this:  I ask that you reconsider your BBB positions and complicit conclusions with CBA: I wrote the attached today:  You should have an unsigned  copy of p 1 of the CBA Total Repair and Signature.

This is the start of a potential ____ Dispute; there is a lot more evidence here than I realized; I am right and CBA should refund me fully so we can end this sooner than later.  My Dad told me when I was a kid; if you are in the right, fight; if you are wrong admit it.  THIS is what I'm doing with the TRUTH.  I predict  I will get the refund, either way, NO DOUBT; and when I do I request that you please post it on your BBB website.

      Sincerely,

      **** ********
