Rarely in the construction business have a dealt with a contractor as frustrating as Davis & Sons. In January of 2022 I contacted Davis & Sons regarding putting in new field lines for a septic tank. I was quoted a price that I agreed to, but was told the weather was not suitable for that kind of work and they would have to get back to me when I could be put on the schedule. I didn't hear back from the contractor at all, so I finally reached back out in mid-April. Again I was told they would be contacting me when they were ready. Still no word till May 16th when I texted them again, they informed me they would be starting the next day. Once they arrived to the property I was informed that they could not just do the field lines. Due to the age of my system and the way it was originally installed I would need a new tank. They gave me an updated price, which we agreed to so they could proceed. The following day we were told that a tank itself would not be sufficient. We would need an additional tank along with a pump due to the grade of the property. We were again given a new price, and we accepted that increase as well. We were told that with a new pump we would also have to hire an electrician as they would not be able to do that work themselves. An additional cost that we paid out. The electrical took about approximately 3 weeks to complete and we were ready to finish the installation. They came back out on 7/25 and buried the field lines and tank. They were paid the remaining balance on this day. They left the dirt humped in the yard with the explanation that they wanted it to rain and settle, and they would be back to smooth it out soon. Soon didn't come. I repeatedly would call and text regarding what I was told about finishing. Calls and texts would go unanswered. Finally I called from a different number, and wouldn't you know, they answered. Now I'm being told they don't normally smooth out the dirt, they were just going to do me a favor. Guess I'm out of luck.
