I checked my credit report and noticed I had late payments from SOUTHEAST FINANCIAL CRED. At the time, I was transitioning between jobs and going through an economic hardship. As you can see, I have made most of my payments on time so I am asking in goodwill faith for this one time to please remove these late payments from my account. I am trying to increase my score to qualify for a mortgage and I would greatly appreciate if you guys would forgive the late payments.Business response

Businesses use credit reports to assess credit risk. Southeast Financial relies on the veracity of other institutions accurately reporting in making underwriting decisions; accordingly, we must accurately and fully report our experience in order for the system to work. While we understand your concern about your credit report, we cannot agree to change the accurate reporting of our experience. Furthermore, we received your previous letters regarding your Southeast Financial account in January 2022 and March 2022. Southeast Financial responded to those requests informing you that Southeast Financial does not change the accurate reporting on members' credit reports. Your letters and our responses are attached for your convenience. As you actually did make late payments on your accounts and we have explained the reason why Southeast Financial does not change accurate reporting, we will again decline your request that we remove the late payments from your credit report.
